Faraz Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 What are people's thoughts on this? I've got a Black zed with swirl marks and scratches. The swirls aren't too bad but i'm a bit worried about the scratches. What is the best/strongest product to use? Is ultimate compound strong enough? I'm planning to do a full detail - wash, clay, restore and polish. Thanks! Quote
Arran Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 For meguaires its actually very good however I would use a two stage process using menzerna power finish and final finish Quote
marconorth Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Interesting thread look forward to hearing other views. Quote
coldel Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 Wasso used it on my black swirly Zed with a DA polisher, came up stunning. Some pics on here somewhere if you search around. Quote
350 Russ Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 there was a meguiars open day a few years back, they did a demonstration using ultimate compound and quite a few members ordered some with a DA polisher so you should get a few reviews on here, try a search Quote
Ekona Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 I use it across all my vehicles, and it's surprisingly effective. For the money you can't really go wrong. Quote
4RE Leather Posted July 15, 2013 Posted July 15, 2013 I used this http://www.monzacarcare.com/bulk-valeting-1/meguiars-m105-ultra-cut-compound-378-litres/0/ followed by this. http://www.monzacarcare.com/paste-waxes/wolfgang-fuzion-carnauba-polymer-estate-wax/0/ On a 30 year old 911 last week and this is the result. cs2000 Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 I use almost nothing but megs stuff (unless its Waxybox week) including the ultimate compound. Its really good stuff. Its not cheap, but nor is it expensive so cant complain! Quote
Voodoo Vix Posted July 16, 2013 Posted July 16, 2013 Ultimate Compound is good stuff, but you may want to test different strength pads, try a lighter one first as UC is quite abraisive, if its not strong enough then gradually work your way up to a stronger pad with more cut, its very easy to make things worse by using too abraisive products and pads.
