twobears Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Has anyone here had a spray tan and, if so, what exactly did it involve? I believe that more men are having spray tans these days so I thought it was worth asking It's not something that I would ever have considered previously but I heard a programme on R4 about it and found out that you can actually have a more natural looking tan applied rather than the full David Dickinson I wouldn't leave my house if I were to be sprayed orange or deep mahogany but a light brown colour does appeal I hate sunbathing so I have a farmer's tan most of the year - face, arms but not a lot else Quote
spursmaddave Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I had one when I got my lack back, sack & crack wax If you need pics let me know Quote
The Bounty Bar Kid Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Never felt the desire to get one. Don't think it'd look right. Quote
twobears Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 Thanks HaydnH, I've not got a PhD so I should be able to follow the instructions SMD, thanks for your kind offer but NOOOOOOOOOOO BBK, you are just perfect as you are - but I would say that since you're my son 1 Quote
The Bounty Bar Kid Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Its really simple. Staff member of mine does it for a side job. She's currently at a beauty college. Wear paper undies, get blasted with tan. Lots of colours to pick from and you can get a nice even tan. Quote
twobears Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 Thanks BBK, I am going to go up to the nearest town at lunchtime and book myself in for next week. I will make them absolutely promise not to make me look like a piece of antique furniture that's been polished with too much Mr Sheen Quote
The Bounty Bar Kid Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I wouldn't necessarily pick your local one. They could be rubbish. Try to find online reviews for any places nearby or just ask someone who's tan you like. Quote
twobears Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 There's a really nice Clarins beauty salon in town so I think I'll be ok there, fingers crossed. I might ask a couple of friends first but I think they go to the other salon whose end results seem a bit too dark for me Quote
twobears Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 Enough said... If only someone had said that to Mr Dickinson I think the end result only lasts a week so I won't have to wear the hijab for long if it does all go wrong Like This Quote MultiQuote Quote

rtbiscuit Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 something like this? If you go too dark you'll look like morph. Quote

Chris AME Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 My girlfriend Zoe is a qualified Spray Tanner, done properly you cant tell its not a natural tan Quote
spursmaddave Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I wear paper undies sometimes, nothing to do with spray tanning though Quote
The Bounty Bar Kid Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I wear paper undies sometimes, nothing to do with spray tanning though At that age eh? Quote
twobears Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 atkin, can you ask Zoe where I should go please? I live about 5 miles from Howden. I've rung both the local salons but one does Fake Bake which my friends say is quite dark and heavy so that's ruled out and the other one doesn't actually spray the tanning solution on so I don't fancy that either. Thanks, Annie Quote
twobears Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 SMD, way too much information .... .... as usual Quote

Thanks, Annie She is siennaX Qualified which is like a premium brand of spray tan, she has a mobile set up and is based in the Driffield area. the siennaX is supposed to be able to do a wide range of shades Quote
twobears Posted July 13, 2013 Author Posted July 13, 2013 That's really useful - thanks I'd done some research and thought that was a good product. There's a salon in Market Weighton where I can get that done. Quote
OV53 Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 I bet you sit down for a Michael Twiss! Do it nice or do it twice! Quote
OsakaBen Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 There's no way I would ever consider getting a spray tan. .........in for results Quote
Dblock Posted July 13, 2013 Posted July 13, 2013 Off topic slightly (sorry) Why the hate for fake tans? I think if women want to do it fine plus it makes them look better 99% of the time. Quote
