Diab2005 Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Just tried to start the car makes a whirring noise then gives up and all lights dim would think was battery but the lights all come on when turn the key. The volt meter reads an 8. Happened before but got out locked and unlocked doors and was all fine! Please help Quote
Dblock Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Sounds like your alt is gone or your belt is loose. Quote
Wasso Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Lights will still come on with low battery, but with 8v sounds like the battery has had it! Quote
JetSet Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 It'll be the battery, mine had exactly the same symptoms. How old is the car? Is it still on the original battery? Pete Quote
MITZ@CougarStore Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 Sounds like the battery may be at fault... Quote

racinggreen Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 8 to 10v is not enough. Battery for sure. Quote
Diab2005 Posted November 9, 2012 Author Posted November 9, 2012 Battery is low but reason for fault was that connector had basically fallen off someone hadnt bothered to fit the cradle in place. Aa guy was mint fitted it all back propa so battery is another xtra item for the p2. Cheers guys! Quote
Dblock Posted November 9, 2012 Posted November 9, 2012 After reading it again I agree its battery. I thought you meant when you start the car it idles and whirrs and then dies. Quote
