And they are bigger, and they are illuminated at night....

I never noticed that as I took a set out a few days ago and never saw any signs of lighting!!

Going back to steering wheel covers.

As some of you may have seen there is a selection of leather covers going for £12.50 each on ebay from this guy.

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Italian-Leather-Steering-Wheel-Cover-NISSAN-I-/180886700905?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Car+Make%3ANissan|Model%3A350+Z&hash=item2a1db00369

Can I suggest you avoid as they have 82 negatives in the last 12 months.

I contacted 3 of there customers who have bought the covers and they all say the same thing.

What you see in the picture is not what you get.

They are ill fitting. Poor quality and one was not even stitched up.

When contacted they were ignored or greeted with rudeness.

Just thought I had better mention it!

You get what you pay for and i thought they were 2 good to be true.

All the more reason to get one from Redline Goods who we all know.

The quality of there items is 2nd to none and I have 12 items form them:)

As I have said Pete I am watching with interest, I am not adverse to the odd interior mod

You know how I like a good play myself Dave:}

My car should be renamed from the Abbey Organ to the Marmite car!!!

I must admit I am enjoying it and it certainly seems to keep me occupied.

I hope to eventually get the whole interior covered in leather but that needs some thought as Redline Goods have supplied

everything so far, and to get the dash and centre consul covers made it would mean sending doner parts over to Poland

and I would need to source the parts.

I have been after a set of HR door panels as it seems even some of the earlier GT's did not have the leather insert panel that the door arm window control panel butts up against.

Mind you like the gear gaitor they are not leather but a nasty thin cheap vinal !

So if anyone knows where I can get a set I would be obliged.

:surrender:

If you are going to give this a go yourselves, beware of the padded bit?

You can order a padding that thickens out the wheel and gives it a really nice grip and feel,

however this involves first cutting away the stitching from the wheel and stripping off the old cover

(which is definately not leather in my book) then you apply this padding that is already shaped and cut out for you,

and peel of the backing paper to reveal a sticky side.

Arrrrhhh just look at the videos is much easier.

It takes about 45 mins to take of the cover and clean up the mess!!

at least an hour to hour and a half to apply the padding.

I am doing the final stitching now but 2 - 2.5 hours at least for that

And maybe an hour to trim up, so 5 hours max for a novice:)

Hopefully have it finished late tonight:)
