AK350Z Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 Spent today digging my parent house out of the mud. It's really been a @*!# summer All within 3 miles of the house: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-cumbria-19420159 And in general: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-19428625 Quote

HaydnH Posted August 30, 2012 Posted August 30, 2012 @28 seconds - more than happy to provide a full detail Taking the seats out and using the pressure washer isn't going to make it "tickety boo"! (Not you Ian, the guy in the vid). Quote
JetSet Posted August 31, 2012 Posted August 31, 2012 It's not just here either, Sweden, Norway, Denmark and the Baltic states have had real stinkers too, in fact if you draw a line from about a third of the way up France through to Finland then anything North of that line has had a summer just like ours. The culprit is of course the Jet Stream which has refused to play ball and shift to the North of Scotland. The last 4 summers have seen the Jet Stream pushed further and further South with only brief periods of where it should be. The cause?? who knows but there is a school of thought that the melting Arctic ice is pushing colder water into the Arctic Ocean and disrupting the usual summer weather patterns . Pete Quote

Stew Posted September 1, 2012 Posted September 1, 2012 It's not been that bad here. Weather has been rubbish but not extreme. Folk couldn't understand why I got excited about the prospect of a Siberian climate hitting the UK..... Hot and dry for 4 months, cold and dry for 8 months. Consistent and not at all unpleasant climate to live in! Quote
bronzee Posted September 3, 2012 Posted September 3, 2012 We've got a tropical storm above at the moment. Monumental amounts of rain, rivers running down the paddock, never had that before. Lots of flash flooding around the city, and will be in the next city. A major motorway on-ramp/off-ramp was closed for 5 hours due to flooding, right beside the sea as well. If it makes you feel any better, but it is only 3 days into Spring though. http://www.newstalkzb.co.nz/auckland/ne ... of-country Quote

No thanks, a huge A/C bill in the summer and an astronomical heating bill in the winter . Anyway, just like last year it's warming up again, September is the new July Pete Quote
