three attempts at matching the paint on my Z 1 by me and 2 by the body shop, it had a new wing and bumper , these have now been painted three times

and no perfect match, they are now going to do a spray test before the 4th attempt , anyone else had problems matching paint?

If its Tempur Orange mate, you'll need a lot of luck to get a match. Mine under artifficial light is mad to look at. All the metal is one colour and the plastic is another.

The paint is a number of processes. Colour, Tint Pearl and laquer. They should do about 10 spray out test cards and if they're on the ball use a Microspectrophotometer (Impressive eh  ) to get as close as can be had.

Good luck.

I have yet to see a Zed that has had extensive spraying have an absolutely perfect match.

Spursmaddave had a perfect match and likewise with others that went to TGM. Clearly professionals in the trade

If you go to somewhere with good equipment they will scan the car to give an exact colour match. This takes in to affect the fade of the colour over time. My dad did this with my Renaultsport Clio 197 which was 5 years old and when it was sprayed it was a perfect match(he works for a car part place which sells paint).
