Surf
Thanks for the information/kind words guys I had a huge excess mainly cause i got a cheaper insurance from one of those comparision website. I never thought that it would bite me back so quickly!!! Got recommended by Nissan to a DWS Bodyshop (it has a few branches around Essex, surrey and Slough) for it to be fixed. The quote that I got is £2000. Does that sound reasonable? I assume its genuine parts and stuff as it is recommended by Nissan. I am still really upset bout the whole thing, the 370z is a GREAT car. I am sure that the colour match will be perfect, however avoid at all costs fitting a new quarter panel, trust me Alex.
4RE Leather
I can see the use for these in a Taxi, but in a 2-seater coupe? Don't you think a car thief would notice a big black box on suction cups and just rip it off and throw it out the window? You treat them the same as your sat nav. take it out of the car when parked up:) They are there for idiots who hit you and run away, and in this instance would have identified the truck:) As for being used against you. Only if you let it:) they have an SD card in them and you either keep the memory or loose it. Have a read of the description and click on the links and make your own minds up. If you ask all the guys that meet up from the forum at Croydon each Thursday none of them knew it was in the car until I pointed it out and even sitting in it. It was called a taxi CCTV as thats what they were initially marketed as. However they were so successful that they were put on open market. It is not as big as a Tom Tom and put down low it is almost invisable as it blends in with the Dash. I will be happy to show you at some stage as even Abbey was unaware that it was installed and they had the car in bits for a month when fitting the Super Charger. Some interesting shots:) At the end of the day the evidence is admissible in court as black and white. And l think l may have mentioned that soon a lot more insurance companies will be pushing for them to be installed. It's all about maintaining a balance. A box in the window or a £1000 hole in the wing. But yes there are smaller ones that can be hidden. One mans meat is another mans poison and I am happy with it:) Peter

parajack
OMG when I saw scratch in the thread title I was expecting a small touch up job! Did you report it to the police? As another member asked are there any CCTV cameras in the local area? Did anyone get the name of the company on the side of the wagon? The chances are he may not have even known he had hit you, then when he got back to his depot noticed damage on his truck and wondered where it had came from. I used to drive class 1's and one of our guys flipped a car over on a roundabout and didn't notice a thing, the car came straight out of the slip road and just clipped his back end. Hope you get it sorted either way.
Siman350z
These quotes are absolutely bonkers. Firstly, I would steer clear of anyone nissan 'reccommends'. They won't necessarily know anything more about 370z's and are likely to be known to them as some kind of company agreement/ insurance linked reason. I had a similar situation with my old lotus exige and used a 'recommended company' and it was overpriced and the work was much lower than popular specialists recommended by others on forums etc. Worst of all- the colour match was poor. (This was a £7.5k job which in hindsight could have easily been £2k at a good, well known independant!). There's a fantastic bodyshop near me, near buntingford, Herts (not sure where you are but that's only 20 mins from Harlow mentioned earlier). They are superb- mid 60's chaps who are extremely experienced and have helped me loads in the past. Their colour match is completely seamless too. They are independent and very well priced- £2000 to fix that is ludicrous and purely becuase they are changing the panel. Anywhere that is insurance recommended (such as the place where you've been quoted) will always be more expensive as their quotes are designed to go straight through the insurance- so they can charge more! If you want the details of this independent pm me

4RE Leather
With referance to putting a CCTV in your car and the pros and cons. Well how about this for a pro. About a month ago I was in the centre lane of the A3 over taking a Black BMW. As i got level with the BMW he decided to drift into my lane and leave tyre prints all down my door and wing. The damage was superficial panel work and Taras quoted for the work. The 3rd party denied everything and his insurance company tried to argue the case. So I got the CCTV immages analised and took snap shots. To cut short I then took out a summonds against the 3rd party based purely on the CCTV evidence. This was before I went into Hospital 10 days ago. When I returned home yesterday evening I found this in a letter. Absolutely black and white in my favour. There was no argument as the CCTV proved my case beyond doubt. Churchill offered no resistance at all:) Simples Had I not had the CCTV I would be paying for this myself.
