Daryl Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Just found out that there is going to be a hose pipe ban as from 5th of April! Quote
DannyBoy Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 What do people do about this? just crack out the Quick-Detailer or are there other tricks to avoid a filthy Zed all summer? DB Quote
Daryl Posted March 21, 2012 Author Posted March 21, 2012 Wash your car at work, or pay someone to do it for you are all acceptable according to the website Quote
Chris`I Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I just carry on washing my car (that is of course all fictitious if the authorities are reading this). Quote
scubapics Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I'm trying out Optimum No Rinse. Bucket, water, ONR, a wash mit and a drying towel. Quote
Bakes100 Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Fill up a dustbin with water, use a pressure washer and instead of connecting the hose to the tap put it into the dustbin full of water and let it suck it out Quote
Chris`I Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 I seem to remember there is some crazy rule you are allowed to fill buckets but not use the hose, so if anyone asks I will fill my Mobi portable pressure washer and wash it with that Quote
rtbiscuit Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 you can wash a car as normal, you just can't use a hose pipe, so rinse with buckets Quote
Ekona Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 But you need to rinse with an open hose to get the water off really. Go and find a company car and wash that instead, as that's perfectly acceptable. Just make sure you've got your Zed parked next to it that accidentally keeps getting splashed. Quote
Chris`I Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 But you need to rinse with an open hose to get the water off really.. Watering can. Woefully less efficient but will do the job Quote
Ekona Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Great idea, just duct tape the hose to the watering can Quote
spursmaddave Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Well I have been living where I am now for almost a year and paid no water rates whatsoever as even though all the manhole covers say 'Property of Thames Water' they refuse point blank to bill us saying that we are not in their area Car clean meet at my place in the summer Quote
Chesterfield Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 Id be tempted to do a Del boy and start bottling and selling it. Quote

TomS Posted March 21, 2012 Posted March 21, 2012 So the hose pipe ban doesn't include your work place? If you work from home and are registered as doing so you can still use a hose? Quote
