4-wheel laser alignment issues

Hi all,

I finally got some time to go and have my 4-wheel laser alignment carried out today, it did not go to plan!

Once the report was brought up, the technician informed me there were a few components out of line and required adjusting. One component that was out of line and could not be adjusted is the front left (nearside) wheel, apparently a component needs to be replaced?

I advised the technician to ignore the front left wheel issue and correct all the components he could. I was then greeted with some bad news...THE READ BOLTS ARE CEASED AND CANNOT BE ADJUSTED!

After a lot of trying the lads gave up and advised I would have to get these bolts removed or replaced myself and bring it back to them within 14 days to have it done and not be billed again for having the alignment report done.

Can anybody please provide me with any advice?

Looking at the report below, is my car badly out of line?

Is my front wheel okay the way it is or do you suggest I should replace the offending component?

The images showing ceased bolts and alignment report are below.

Your help is very much appreciated.

Many Thanks,

Hassan

Get some WD40 and a breaker bar on them nuts they don't look that bad!

We had a 1m bar on some of mine to drop the suspension out!

the report I had showed the tolerance so I have no idea how far out yours is, sorry can't help on that.

Find out what "component" needs replacing at the front and :pmzmanalex:

he will most likley have it and I'm prety sure he has the relevant nuts and bolts for the rear if they are shot!

May need to consider new bushes as well depends how bad they are.

If it was me I'd get it sorted for my own peace of mind.

Get to CS he will sort it for you

Thanks a lot mate. Forgot to add, I spoke to CS who've advised they will have a look at it next week for me. Just wanted a heads up.

Also, the technician was scared of breaking the bolts as the car would become undriveable. They were at the bolts for ages! He said he didn't want to heat it incase he damaged the rubber bush behind the bolt having to replace the whole bush instead.

+1 on CS, him and Andy will deffo sort you out

Yep they do all the work required on my car. The first thing I did was ring Andy up, they know their stuff!!

What do you guys think the outcome will be? I don't want to be kept in suspence until they can look at my car :headhurt:

As what Keyser has said. :#1:

WD 40 or similar and a breaker bar are your friends.

The rusty bolts/nuts in your picture are the rear toe and camber snail cam adjusters.

Looking at the numbers in your graph, I would reckon that once you get the rear into check then the fronts may well come back into tollerance.

If you still have camber issues on the front then you will have to replace the top suspension arm, however I do not think that you will require to do this unless your suspension is lowered.

As regards the rear bolts, if push come to shove, I have plenty preowned ones in stock.

I also have the top front suspension arms in stock.

Finally, I would take your car to another alignment specialist who has the capabilities of loosening off a tight rusty bolt and nut, it is hardly rocket science.

Alex. :)

A bit of ferosol and it should come off. Sounds like a micky mouse place no offence. Ive got a impact wrench that is about 700nm and a big breaker bar that could easily do that, a bit of heat would probably do it. Worst comes to worst they could grind the bolt off no?

Would have to agree with the guys above about going somewhere else, especially if all they used (or had) was those spanners you see in the pic of your car on the ramp and no scockets, or any sign they had used WD40 or similar
