Wiper Blade Replacement

I've just noticed my wiper blades aren't thoroughly wiping the passenger side, and the rear one has a split one inch in the top end (presumably by turning on the rear wiper whilst it was still frozen!).

 

My question is: How often do you replace your blades?

I have done about 25k miles across my two zeds and only had to replace the blades once

Sorry if it sounds like I'm stating the obvious but I change mine when they fit the current description of yours

I did that and bought some good one and the windscreen is still smearing

if it's still smearing try some methylated spirits on a clean rag..

I tried glass cleaner, is that not enough?

You've probably got grease on your new wiper blades now as well so use some meths as Lomoto suggests to clean the screen and the blades.

Rain-X does wonders for a windsreen. That or give it a nice polish and it wil be beading nicly

Buy PIAA blades - they work wonders.

I change them when they are split or just not wiping properly. A very important thing to have good windscreen wipers!

On my previous car i did 75000 miles in 4 years and sold it, and never replaced the wiper blades
