Hi Guys

Just had a wee off the lights with the leon R I think it was and it had a bit of poke !!!!

Didnt know if the boy was going to put his foot down and he did!!So I gave it some and upto 60 he was kinda keeping up.

Then over that I pulled away which was nice !!!

How fast are they !! Or am I just crap at putting my foot down !! ;)

They are like a greased otter in fairness.

true that, they tune up well.

Yea the cupra R with all the bits n bobs on and a good map will hit circa 280, my cupra 20VT was 180 standard and with map and a few goodies tops out at 240ish, R version has slightly bigger turbo so a bit more puff.

If it was an LCR with Revo and a few other mods it would seriourly worry a 350z. They put out about 280HP and about the same torque. A lot quicker than you might think. You can seriously fettle them and get them up to about 350HP IIRC :drive1

Hit some twisties and you'll be sorted, my old Leon FR handled like a barge compared to the Zed

I wouldn't want to put 350ponnies to the front wheels to be fair.

A mate at work who had the Civic type R has sold and chosen a 08 Cupra not sure if its the FR or R with the K1 pack. Nice on the outside but the dash is seriously :scare::yuck:

Im close to 330bhp in my focus ST and it can handle it reasonably well. :scare: Lowered it and its like its on rails. Next step is the quaife LSD which will put all the ponies on the ground. We will see. Its quicker than a stock RS and is better to drive.

Sounds like a top idea. I could do with seeing Newhaven again to see what's changed. Left there in 1987 when all the storms hit the south!

Is that club still going on the end of the Pier in Eastbourne?

Are we talking about the 'old' Cupra R or the new one?

This is from a Cupra site -

2005 Leon Cupra R - 320+ BHP

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The time has come to reluctantly sell my Cupra R, due to a new work location I need a diesel for commuting...

I've owned the car for nearly 4 years and bought her with the Jabbasport conversion already done by the previous owner and just 13k miles on the clock! She currently has 48K on the clock but this will increase slightly as she's in daily use.

I've kept her looking as standard as possible apart from the obligatory Fabia rear wiper and subtle lowering which makes for a very discreet car but with a surprise under the bonnet! On Jabba's RR she made 351BHP at the time of mapping (have original plot) and I saw 361 on Janspeed's RR just after I bought her. I've also included a plot from my local (conservative?) dyno dynamics RR which show's 324BHP – in any case she has well over 300 BHP and a nice torque delivery to match.

Since being in my ownership the major mods have been to fit a Peloquin diff and uprated clutch as well as a full suspension upgrade.

She has a full service history at my local VAG specialist, cambelt and waterpump were done last year and she had a full service in March which included new plugs, airfilter clean and re-oil. I've also just fitted new EBC ultimax disc's all round with ferodo DS pads, new front ball joints and a new rear caliper.

I have all receipts for all work done and parts fitted including the original Jabba conversion. She is MOT'd until March 2012 and has 6 months tax, comes with all original documents and spare flip-key.

Full spec of modifications as follows:

Engine

IHI VF34 turbo on Jabbasport cast manifold

Jabbasport 3in downpipe with 100 cell race cat

Milltek resonated cat back exhaust (quieter one – very discreet) – centre section was replaced in 2010 under warranty

Large Pro-Alloy front mount intercooler

440 cc injectors

APR R1 DV

SFS silicone hoses with cold-side relocation

N249 bypass

Green panel filter in smoothed airbox with large cold air feed

Denso iridium IK22 plugs

Transmission

Peloquin ATB limited slip differential

Sachs uprated organic clutch (fitted with new dual-mass flywheel)

THS dog-bone mount

Chassis

KW V2 adjustable coilovers

Eibach ARB's

Full set of powerflex poly bushes

Audi TT front strut brace

Hughes engineering detachable rear strut brace

H&R 10mm rear spacers

Goodyear Eagle F1 assy's with good tread.

Brakes

EBC Ultimax discs all round (just fitted!)

Ferodo DS pads

Braided front hoses

Motul RBF600 fluid

I have a worn pair of AP 2-piece front discs and DS2500 pads that I will include in the sale

Interior

Jabba dash mount manual boost controller (1 to 1.5 bar)

Apline head unit with i-pod control (will include original SEAT CD head unit in sale)

Nomad pillar mount with boost gauge (will include original pillar trim in sale)

The body work is in generally excellent condition and the alloys are in good original condition. I re-laquered the Brembo's recently when fitting the brakes, however as she is a daily driver she does have the inevitable stone chips on the front and a minor scuff on the front bumper, but overall I don't think you will be disappointed.

I'm looking for £7,500.

I'm based on the south coast of Hampshire, please call ***** ****** or e-mail at *****@*****.freeserve.co.uk if you're interested, but serious enquiries only please.

Stuart

The newer Cupra K1 can be mapped to well over 350bhp, not sure of the spec on the new Cupra R but no boubt it is even meatier.
