3D TV

3D TV is not for me.

You don't look B) with the glasses on. More :disguise: I think.....

Plus I don't want to sit wearing them at home.

Sure if you get a good 3D movie it's awesome but apart from that it's nothing more than a fad I hope.

Fully passive 3D TV, well that would change things!

Quote me if I'm wrong here, but aren't the present batch of LED LCD Tv's "pretty much" on par with Plasma screens now?

More info on that here ;)

after 90mins of watching anyway as the flickering of the glasses starts to annoy the brain.

With or without glasses watching tv annoys me! If i see one more DFS ad my plasma will be in 3d format on the front lawn after i have launched it through the window.:rant:

:lol::lol:

Spent boxing day round my brothers he has a 50" Pioneer Plasma it's probably around 4 years old now it's still the best picture I have seen by far. I have had a Samsung Plasma which I did not like bought another Samsung 37" LCD for my spare room and any quick movements or foortball there's like a stutter in the picture I have tried everything to stop it with no avail. I was told the Samsung and LG are the same panels do anybody know different?

This year I bought a 40" Sony Bravia HD LCD and the picture is great even fast moving images so would recommend highly.

I saw on a programme this morning that you should wait if buying a 3D TV they have techknology to make them and not need the glasses it's about 2 to 3 years away!

I sky+ EVERYTHING then don't watch the adverts.

+10000000

I've not watched hardly anything live for about two years!

Some programmes that the Mrs watches such I'm a celeb and X-factor can be watched in about half the time

And, I love football sooooooooooo much but REALLY cannot stand the half time drivel, so I always start watching it 15 mins after it starts and then forward through half time and watch the second half straight after the first half :D

Porn in 3D, priceless

Where?! I joke.

I think it's a fad, Betamax was a bit before my time, it could have been about when I was a baby but I think it could go the same way. No one is ravving about 3D TV at all. Everyone who sees it in the cinema wishes they'd saved their money and watched it in 2D as it's just not that great.

ace..there's a lesson for you there...stay away from Korean tat (Samsung/LG) and buy Japanese (you have with the car!!!) much better build quality, reliability etc (Sony, Pana, Toshiba) :)

That's true mate I won't buy another Samsung again, funny thing pops into my other brothers tonight and he's got a bloody great box in the hall low and behold he's been out today and bought a 50" Panasonic Plasma 3D TV in the package was a Panasonic Blue ray 3D DVD player he paid £1699, we just watched Avatar on SKY HD (for the upteenth time) and the picture was stunning he's going to subsribe to Sky 3D in the morning ( i think he's got more money than sense) so I'll go round and try the glasses out and report back!

I still maintain that it doesn't matter what any expert (proper or armchair) tells you about TVs and which one is 'best', it's all down to the individual and their eyeballs.

I directly compared (as in was in a shop and had the three TVs side-by-side, all running the same BD and 360 game) an LCD, and LED and a plasma TV. I ended up with the Samsung 7-series 55" LED, simply because it looked far superior to my eyes. I've no doubt if you ran off and did all kinds of scientific tests that the plasma would have better blacks and the LCD wasn't far behind the LED, but for what I wanted it for it fitted me perfectly.

Whilst it's true that you could buy almost any telly and be happy with it as it'll never be seen next to another one when it's in your home, you really do need to get out there to any of the big chain shops (Comet, Currys ets) and physically see the difference in picture for yourself. Bring in one of your own BDs that you know really well and that will test the screen (so anything fast moving and dark is good, I used Independence Day) and make them put it on the screens for you. Do it at a quiet time and they will help you out as they want the sale, although you still don't have to buy from them in the end. Don't just buy a TV over the internet because all the reviews say it's good: It may well be, but it may not suit your eyes.

Just set up the Samsung after getting back from Comet, went for the one I saw the other day

Absolutely stunning picture on SkyHD, PS3 & XBox360 :yahoo:

Watched a bit of Avatar on BluRay and the picture is pin sharp but what I have noticed most from the upgrade is the movement which is soooooo smooth B)

For the price I could have got a similar Samsung 3D but it would only have been a 32"

Watching Jurassic Park III on ITV HD at the moment and pretty good for an old film, the Dino's look VERY good :teeth:
