Want it last a bit longer than my previous laptops - this HP one I bought is a pile of shite - part after part keeps breaking on it. The only thing still working is the keyboard so I hope this message reaches you safely. I am getting better at uses Macs but have to be honest, the swap over from Windows does scare me a bit! Not really to be honest, you pay for the name like with most things.... not saying they are no good, far from it, but you get much more for your £ with something else that's all. I had higher expectations for Apple. I guess I could buy a shitter and put money £1000 of it towards an engagement ring fund or alternatively things for the zed. ........... mmmmmmmm, just things for the zed! rtbiscuit Posted December 8, 2010 Share Posted December 8, 2010 i like apples but in basic for thats still nearly 2k of laptop. i'd spend half that and get an alien warz laptop, and to be honest even then do you need that much computing power? are you a big pc gamer? if your just doing desktop stuff; sending emails and watching movies then thats alot more laptop than you need. personally i'd spend about 400-600 on a pc world job something from sony or packard bell and save the rest for an engagement ring or something for the car. I hate anything apple But onboard graphics was a no no for games when I was building pc's aaages back. Since then I believe the downfall of pc games means there's no real point anymore in anything more than bog standard spec, aside from video editing and even then it's a stretch imo. Your probably right Rich. I use if for movies, images, emails, forum, hooking up my iphone, burning discs (video and audio) and thats about it. clarkie34 Posted December 8, 2010 Share Posted December 8, 2010 I swapped to a mac about 2 months back and have found it much better than my PC.Web browsing is much quicker,no viruses to speak of plus I'm told will not slow down as a PC does overtime.Also looks a lot better.
