I've caught the bug 29/05 UPDATE

Well my Zed's 6 years old and I'm going to give her a bit of an upgrade .............. I almost put her up for sale last year when I got p!$$ed off with the banana bar rattle and the airbag warning light but now I've decided that she deserves a bit of TLC ...... since then I've had the Rays refurbed, new Falkens all round, repairs to window tints and new PIAA blades ............

 

so here's the plan going forward

 

1 - CF B pillar covers (thanks Scott)

2 - Zunsport grille in silver (thanks Husky)

3 - Number plate re-sited into grille .... front bumper smoothed (with new pearl black Z badge on order from Envy)

4 - Front bumper resprayed GM with piano black to centre below-grille section

5 - Roof resprayed piano black (dcash5's photo convinced me that this IS the way forward)

6 - Splash guards sprayed in body colour (thanks Sarnie)

7 - Professional exterior detail

8 - Full on interior detail by the wifey (she's the best I know at this)

9 - Limo tint to rear window

10 - wheel spacers 20 + 25

11 - Stubby

12 - LED rears (on order from Alex and thanks Lincolnbaggie .. following your baby convinced my wife)

13 - HuskyStylee reverse/fog/indicator lights

 

My Z will be in the body-shop whist I have a well deserved holiday down under with my family and the F1 guys

 

Can you think of anything else that I should consider whilst the car is in the body-shop ? .......... all advice gratefully received

that's a nice list of mods, subtle but will certainly personalise it.

 

Do you have spacers on your wheels? It really makes the Rays look better, there is a thread in this forum with pic examples. It's on my list too

what are you planning on doing to the leather interior???

(is she staying home while you go on hols? )

 

What about coilovers,stop tech big brake kit, braded lines, shortshifter, gear nob, ICE upgrade, engine upgrades? (not sure if you got any) respray the rays in a different colour (think Nurrish is onto a winner), SC?

20 + 25 looks great on stock suspension. If you plan on lowering the car than I think 20 +20 works well.

obviously not as black or chromey as those in fact they are not far off gunmetal and did come out as the sample I was shown so I can't complain

stubby ariel is black, but i suppose you could spray it, most use the honda S2000 jobbie, although apparently the lexus one is a better fit.

Lexus one does not go down all they way on the threads but look way better, can take photo tomorrow if you wish... painting silver =

i know someone who got a stubby from halfrauds and it works ok.

i personally quite like the black chrome wheels but imo would benefit from a silver lip

clear out the rear foglight and change all the indicators for silver ones. Tidies up the look a lot.
