  1. Aye i'll keep you updated, just praying for some good weather this weekend. I'm int he same position really. I'd love to fork out the money for a full spray, get a great colour match all over, lose the stone chips and scratches, but as it's my daily drive I know it would be buggered again inside 6 months. Most stressful, I hate her looking a bit tatty
  2. I have an idea on the stone chip self repair thing myself. I'm in the process of doing it, so if its still sunny this weekend I'll post up some pics and guide of what I have done. Basically the plan is : Halfrauds Blade Silver Touch up Kit (one with primer, colour, laquer and the firbreglass tool) Custom Mixed Azure B17 paint. Done at a local bodyshop for me when they sprayed my bumper. 2000 grit Emery. Model paint brush. Going to use the primer to fill the chip until it is level with the surrounding paint surface. After each coat of primer rub down gently with the little tool that comes in the halfrauds kit. Once completely filled, rub down very carefully with the 2000 grit, to smootht he surface. Leave 24 hours to harden. Apply one coat of blade silver. Rub down, 2000 grit. Apply one coat azure from left to right. Rub down one coat from right to left. rub down one coat diagonally rub down one coat up and down. rub down Sevral coats of laquer using the same process. I'm not sure how it will turn out, i'm still doing the primer stage currently. Will let ya know how it goes. :-D Not expecting a colour match but I'm hoping it won't look too noticable and might last a while and stop it rusting etc. -Dave
  3. So i went in there this morning, very calmly talke dot them. Told them the mistakes were unacceptable and the damage to my tyre wheel should be paid for, or at the very least I would like my money back for the fitting. Basically the guy was uninterested. He gave me the Z centre cap back which was still sat on his tyre changing machine. Told me his machine couldn't possibly have caused the alloy damage, and went on to try and prove it on different alloys he had int he shop. He apologised for the original mixup. But nothing else. So i phoned Trading Standards this morning. They are going to investigate the incorrect tyre fitting as this was dangerous and incompetent, and contravenes the Supply of Goods and Services Act 1982. Verwood Tyre and Exhaust will be getting a visit from an officer supposedly. They gave me a load of legal spiel to put in a letter to Verwood Tyre and Exhaust, and told me to get a quote for alloy repair to include in it. I should be able to claim repair costs back. The original cost of fitting I probably can't get back because they did fit the tyres, and corrected their mistake at no extra charge etc.
  4. Yeh i'ts the one on Ebblake industrial estate mate, just round from Ktec. Camskill sent me all the right tyres, they just put them on all over the place.
  5. Long story but bare with me. So today my shiny new Falkens arrive from Camskill. I work in Verwood, Dorset so I nip round to Verwood Tyre and Exhaust to have my shiny new tyres fitted over my lunch break. Simple job. I'm quoted £14.10 per corner for fitting, balancing, new valves etc. Bit steep I think but as a mate at work agreed to cover the cost as he wants my old Bridgestone's I go ahead with it anyway. Come back from lunch an hour later to Front near 245/45 Front off 225/45 rear near 225/45 Rear off 225/45 I spot this immediately on walking up to the car, as the rotation arrow was wrong, the profiles looked odd as hell. Utterly gobsmacked. Manager/Owner has gone home. Numpty agrees to sort it and apologises. I go back to work, call about 15 minutes later asking if he had moved the alloys around because obviously the rears are bigger. Please double check before you refit. After work I go back, inspect the tyres, ensure the right alloys int he right place. All looks ok. I ask when the manager will be in tomorrow so I can go back to talk to him about it. Get home, notice my Z centre cap is missing off the nearside rear alloy. Clean the car, get down with my alloy brush and notice that they have completely carved the rounded lip off my rear offside alloy. Completely, uniformly flattened it off, all the way round. To say I'm mad does not even cover it. The first mistake was not only stupid, but dangerous. The other stuff is outright damage to my car. Any advice on what to do next. I intend to go see the manager tomorrow morning first thing, but at this precise moment it's hard to imagine staying cool and not jawing him if he is not cooperative. The two scrotes who work for him didn't appear to give a @*!#, and i barely got a mumbled apology about fitting the tyres int he wrong place. Dave
  6. These arguments always crop up. To each their own I say. Personally I don't like the boxster, or the new 911's, but I'd have a 993. I don't like Lambo's at all, i think they are hideous cars that sound bleedin horrible too. Ferrari's... I like maybe 3 or 4 they have ever made, but they also sound horrible, screaming nasty euch. I do love my Zed though.... and I wouldn't trade it for a 370 either, they may drive better but they have messed up the looks of the back end, eurgh. Would have a GT-R though, alas my budget doesn't stretch so far. Such a personal thing car choice! Price, looks, engine, sound, how it drives, RWD or FWD or AWD.... V6, V8, V10, V13? Flat 4, straight six? I love the sound of a V6 or a V8 (heaven), and wouldn't give up RWD for anything now! <3 -Dave
  7. Ew... just ew... more than ew, but i dont currently have the words for it. ~However hope you enjoy your purchase!
  8. On a more serious note away from the ribbing about the pink wheels...... I propose, for the sanity and well being of all the clubs members, that the mods forthwith ban Nurrish from posting or contributing in any way to the "Styling" forum Dave
  9. I've had my Zed for over a year and noone has ever tried to race me. most attention i've had is some looks, and a few chav types taking pictures! Oh and thumbs up from a few scooby owners, which was odd. Most of the Zed drivers around this way don't even wave
  10. haha mental nurrish! Still will be interesting to see some pics on the car!
  11. Felt awkward just reading the thread... jebus!
  12. tempting though.... would you go 20 and 20, or 20 front, 25 rears. Hmmm
  13. Painful isn't it.... I want some too, but can't justify £200 on a couple bits of ally at the moment lol

    New bumper!

Some pics of the bumper fitted as people requested. The colour match still isn't 100% after a couple of tries. I think the combination of different materials, and 6 years of paint fade has contributed. Will think about a full respray in time, but it doesn't look bad for now. Really happy with the bumper itself, think it looks spot on!
  15. that's a nice list of mods, subtle but will certainly personalise it. Do you have spacers on your wheels? It really makes the Rays look better, there is a thread in this forum with pic examples. It's on my list too

I think I spoke to you, just didn't mention I was on here! Chunky guy in the black coat with glasses lol. Started asking you about the your bumpers and how you got the look. Was in the 53 plate Azure coupe myself! _Dave

Having seen DCASH5's car at beaulieu last week, I have to say it looks lovely in the flesh. But, in my opinion it wouldn't look right without the tint on the rear window. It really keeps the lines clean and enhances the look. Just my 2c though -Dave
  18. There are a set of rays in that thread on my350 that have been chrome plated. Think it looks awesome on the azure. Most odd as I normally hate chrome! Wonder how much something like that would cost.... hmm
  19. They look great Kris! So many ideas... argh. brain overload. This site is gonna cost me so much money, i just know it -Dave
  20. Since when did they need a reason to complain??? Dave
  21. Also interested, as it might be a cheaper and better option than getting some 19's
  22. They look really good mate! Nice one
