Gilly199 Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Well they all say there is always a first i had mine Heading down an A road last night and hit some water and the Zed skipped. Thought oo time to slow down a bit me thinks but before i did there was another bigger puddle and this time i lost control and went crashing into the kerb to which i was lucky was there in the first place as they are there for a few yards and then its field times. so i was very lucky. Well as far as i can see ive just mullered the Rays front. so not impressed at all. Esp since i wasn't going all that fast in the first place. Quote
bounty78 Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Glad you are OK bud. Things could have got a lot worse. I have never been in a car with so light back end yet. Not going to risk it until the weather is better. Our Zed is not a good run around in the snow or wet. Quote
MITZ@CougarStore Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Sorry to read this, Gilly199, glad you're ok though... Quote
rtbiscuit Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 sorry to here that mate, hope it all gets fixed. sounds grim, but what about some pics, so we can see the damage. if the impact has mullered the rays, it might have thrown some other parts out in the geometry setup and suspension. Quote
martinmac Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Ouch, it sounds like it could have been worse though. As for the wheel, its amazing what can be fixed so dont worry too much. Quote
ZMANALEX Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Ouch! but could have been much worse Quote
narcotix Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Damn that's unlucky mate ... Glad you're alright though ... Quote
AlexZ Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Glad your ok mate, this is the first rwd car i've owned and it does slip and step alot even in light rain etc... Get some images up... Quote
Chilli Red Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 So sorry Gilly, you must be gutted Glad you're Ok Quote
GT4 Zed Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Sorry to hear this mate. Good thing you are not hurt. the zed will be up and running soon enough Quote
andyvvc Posted February 26, 2010 Posted February 26, 2010 Set of FOUR rays second hand on eBay/350z forums = 300-500 quid depending on quality of the alloys and tyres. So not that much...and you can probably pick one alloy up from a seller for not much at all if someone is willing to split a set to help you out. As Martin says, it might even be repairable, so cheaper still! Quote
rich5259 Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Glad you are OK mate, check the suspension as others have said Quote
Gilly199 Posted February 27, 2010 Author Posted February 27, 2010 thanks folks for all the kind words, i always thought it would be the rear end that would get me. Never for a minute did i think it would have been some hydroplane action. il get a pic of the wheel up tomorrow. i dont know if it can be fixed, took a bad hit. once i get another wheel il get it into the work and have it checked over. had a look when i was on the jack and doesn't look like anything is bent or that so fingers crossed. I was very very lucky to hit the kerb, would have been alot worse had i went off on a section where there isn't any kerb. Quote
bronzee Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Sounds a lucky escape. Could have been worse, if you'd ended up in the paddock looking for spuds. Glad your ok mate, this is the first rwd car i've owned and it does slip and step a lot even in light rain etc... Please take care Alex. That could also be down to tyres. It makes a huge difference. Jay Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Sorry to hear his mate. but the most important thing is your ok, a wheel is easily replaced Quote
Cragus Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Gutted for you mate- at least your safe and replacing or repairing a ray shouldnt be too hard. Quote
D13vyl Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 Hi Gilly Hope u get up and running again soon, D Quote
M13KYF Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 sorry to hear this. Hope you get it fixed soon Quote
Gilly199 Posted February 27, 2010 Author Posted February 27, 2010 here we go, pics ahoy Not as bad as first thought, bloody stong wheels though and also due to what only can be described as japanese black magic the tyre is still inflated Quote
martinmac Posted February 27, 2010 Posted February 27, 2010 The plave just outside Glasgow can fix that bud. I am pretty sure thay can anyway. Mine was £210 and it was really buckled. Quote
