MrLizard Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 Another load of thanks needs to be directed to Abbey Motorsport, with Motordyne on board as a sponsor for 2010 the TLM 350z was treated to a nice new exhaust configuration The old scorpion was swapped for a Shockware Dual Ti with an XYZ - Y pipe and resonated Decats, The idea of spending some money on this was to get some of the gains that Motordyne have been talking about on the USA site, as Abbey are approved traders here in the UK coupled with their tuning knowledge, Mark was indeed capable of extracting some very nice gains. I wont post the graphs yet as i know Abbey are hard at work comparing different parts on more than one zed and combination of engines/bits to give people the best advice on what mods work etc so I will let Mark post when he is ready, suffice to say my face is Quote
andlid Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 mov link not working please fix ASAP! Nice looking exhaust there mate, can't wait to see some nice gain figures on that... bet it sounds MASSIVE! Well done! Quote
rtbiscuit Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 some very nice looking kit under there. look forward to seeing the link once it works Quote
P15UL T Posted February 20, 2010 Posted February 20, 2010 that looks the nuts any info on price ? Quote

andlid Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Ok folks, I've edited the first post to sort out the vid. Sounds +1 sweeeet! Did you not bother hocking the O2 sensors back into the pipe? will be VERY interested to see total gain on this! Did you have a pull before fitting the 'decats' but the rest of the exhaust? (who cares how much... I want it!) Quote
MrLizard Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 The car did a few pulls on the dyno, the comparison between what it ran when it arrived at abbey and what it is now is rediculous I think Mark did do a run with and without the Resonated decats, btw that version of the exhaust is with the silencers. If you want a Price just PM Mark at Abbey, they get decent prices for these, doesnt sound like anything else ive ever heard before oh and it spits flames on the over run now occasionally but my car is running quite rich Quote
yokomo Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 is thata silencer on the Y pipe or s race cat ? Quote
MrLizard Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 I think its a silencer, id add that the build quality of this is amazing as well, though I guess you do get what you pay for Quote
andlid Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Not sure why there are two silencers in a row there one tube and one flat... then two more at the end can part either way it sounds delish! Quote
yokomo Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Not sure why there are two silencers in a row there one tube and one flat... then two more at the end can part either way it sounds delish! they do a version (the orignal dual shockwave) that just has the square silencer but unless your already deaf its abit loud , sounds great though. plus im guessing hes got to get through some track noise levels too. Quote
MrLizard Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 thats right yokomo, even with the silencers it is loud, very deep growl without them im not convinced id pass the noise levels Quote
M13KYF Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 looking forward to hearing this for real one day. Looks Quote
Valveman Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 The other thing to bear in mind is the Motordyne exhaust should be a lot lighter than the standard exhaust configuration and this should be noticeable on the track, as the weight of the standard exhaust is right at the back of the car behind the rear wheels. In other words the handling should be better with this exhaust. Quote
MrLizard Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 hoping that plus all the other weight saving and suspension tweaking will help. Quote
MrLizard Posted February 21, 2010 Author Posted February 21, 2010 hoping to put a diff cooler in there if i get a chance as that seems to take all of a few laps to overheat Quote
introspect Posted February 21, 2010 Posted February 21, 2010 Dear God I love that exhaust. I think I actually want to marry it! Quote
andlid Posted February 22, 2010 Posted February 22, 2010 Dear God I love that exhaust. I think I actually want to marry it! its a shame it's stuck underneath the car though Quote
Glenn1981 Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 out of interest how much is one of these, full kit with XYZ pipe and HFC? Checked the Abbey retail list and it said £1250, is that right? Quote
MrLizard Posted February 23, 2010 Author Posted February 23, 2010 sounds about right yep, but as i say, you pay for what you get, and thats high quality and more torq Quote
introspect Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 sounds about right yep, but as i say, you pay for what you get, and thats high quality and more torq That's not actually too bad compared to the price of a Nismo exhaust Quote
yokomo Posted February 23, 2010 Posted February 23, 2010 if thats inc the Y pipe (xyz -silenceer) then thats actually pretty resonable as above nismo is simalar money and plenty out there cost alot more ! Quote
