Where you based?

Easy to fit.......

He's in Wokingham Mark, so not far from me. I can't make any offers of help from Tony at the moment as he is so busy at work that he has to work most weekends. But if anyone is prepared to help with the fit you are welcome to do it here and Tony may be around and I will make tea/coffee and sarnies :)

  • 1 month later...

New to Plenum Spacers (after huge amounts of reading on Google) I also would like to understand the fitting requirements. If I purchase and wave the spacer at my local garage he's going to laugh. This therefore requires fitting by a specialist?!

What indicative costs could I expect for the fitting of a Plenum Spacer?

I fitted mine myself and I am in the food business so no skill's really needed

Just take your time, double check everything and enjoy. I am so glad I done it myself, helps you get to understand the car a little better.

Super instructions, although I don't really want to mess with 16k of car only for me to drop a screw or a bolt down those large holes in the top of the engine

Joking aside, I would prefer to have a qualified mechanic undertake the work, as I don't really have the tools to undertake the work. To be honest I have been thinking further and it would be a good time to update a number of engine components, whilst having the plenum worked on. So I guess this thread could stretch into another subject on the basis of what next for upgrading the internals?

I've set aside a budge of £1500 for the NOS. ARC induction is on it's way, Exhaust to review and budget, and then maybe some internals, uprated cam shaft or something?

maybe look here for some more stuff to plug into the engine, think Mark in Abbey will or is allready stocking these: http://www.motordyneengineering.com/350Z.php

350Z MREV 2 Manifold TM (depends what engine you got in your Z if it's any good to you)

350Z 1/2" Manifold Spacer

Not sure if you need to upgrade your fuel line system and injectors if you're thinking on going NOS.

I have the 296bhp 56 plate....

With regard to mechanics I have already visited this place http://www.westonperformance.com/ they are very local to me and after checking out their workshop and customer service all seems well.

The only problem is that I use the car every day, so when it's in a garage it causes me problems. In fact when the NOS is being applied I will be without the car for 3-4 days!

In terms of modifications to take on the NOS - I have asked they budget for everything - including the window switch and various other essential (keep the engine safe) peripherals.

Quite looking forward to it.... :yahoo:

so you got the revup engine, reading around I don't think you'll gain any hp with a spacer fitted.

Spacer + MREV2 lower plenum works best on the revup engine which you have. Mark at Abbey Motorsport normally stock both of these at very good prices.

you guys might want to read above thread... and try and clean your eyes of the bs...

Nothing new in that as the older members on my350z have stated, unless I missed something? Good to see an inderpendant dyno measuring it, and does prove that a spacer on a RevUp motor does nothing with the RevUp lower collector, so what has been said is right, you need the spacer and the MREV/non-RevUp lower collector to make the best gains
