djtp Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 I live in the country and a few weeks ago, I had a bit of a problem with some local wildlife - I accidentally scalped a dead badger. Stupidly I thought it would fit underneath my zed, however after one almighty wallop it managed to fit underneath and came out the back. Whilst removing badger from the air scoop around the rear diff, I found a broken plastic bit rattling around inside the front bumper. It looks like it keeps out water from some pipework and as I live in Wiltshire and sometimes my drive to work looks like this: I'd like to replace it. The local dealer hasn't yet found a part number to re-order, however I've found it on a service manual and circled it in red below. Can anyone help me please? Thanks djtp Quote
martinmac Posted October 18, 2009 Posted October 18, 2009 Hi and welcome from another badger fan. I hate the bloody things. Back on topic. Drop a pm to R35LEE and he will sort you out. Never buy anything from a dealer. Stick a post in the intro section so we can say Hi. Quote
djtp Posted October 18, 2009 Author Posted October 18, 2009 thanks martinmac - I will do. I thought it was only my car that the badgers liked - I wouldn't mind if they tasted nice after being tenderised, but the odour of fresh badger being slightly seared on the exhaust manifold isn't that appetising! Arkwright Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 my son had a similar meeting with a badger and his 300zxtt. It fitted under the front ok but smashed his rear bumper (forgot the posh word) on its way out. Quote

Trev-the-Rev Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 I too live out in the sticks and had an encounter with a badger last year. This one, however, was up on it's feet and with a height of about 12-14 inches made a right old imprint in the front of my car Upshot was, new bumper, new slam panel, new washer bottle and new undertray. djtp Posted October 19, 2009 Author Posted October 19, 2009 interesting to hear about such badger resistance - perhaps they're having an uprising against us! Quote
nixy Posted October 19, 2009 Posted October 19, 2009 yep its well annoying - mainly pheasants around here bloody hundreds of them - and all kamikaze breed! Quote
Shuck Posted October 22, 2009 Posted October 22, 2009 I have clipped a badger before. Someone had already seen to it, but it was in a heap in the middle of the road, on a blind corner. I had no where to go so decided to attack it head on. It sounded like it was playing the bongos with the bottom of my car, and finally reappeared about 30 meters down the road. Luckily I had no damage, but a big lump of fluff near the back box. My brother found it hilarious in the passenger seat! Quote
