There is a good reason for the rule. We enforce it too. :)

The rule is in place to protect the forum members from any Tom, Dick and Harry wanting to offload their items for free, and during these difficult financial times we are finding quite a few people joining just to sell something, and we are really not interested in that type of member. So its 15 for an item and 50 for a car. The rules are not flexible and please note the quality of your posts will be monitored on your way up the amount required, so in other words no spam if there is they will be deleted hence a backward step in your post count. :)

As you point out in these difficult financial times thoght it may benafit someone on this forum who may have been unlucky enough to loose a mirror unit, having only to spend £120 on a brand new replacement rather than an extra £187 at their local nissan dealer, yes i did a price check today £307.00 :)

Which is fine. So the way the club works is the club gives back what people give to it. If you show that you're prepared to give then you can benefit by advertising. It also protects our members. These are the rules buddy, and the way we run it here. :)

The rules are here for a reason as stated previously. You would be surprised at how many people suddenly manage to find this forum and the time to register/post when they have items/cars for sale.

The website itself costs a fair amount of money each year to run, and we have also started discounted entry to shows etc - all paid for from either donations made by members, or fees paid by traders. We do not charge our members a fee, and run the site on more or less a shoestring, the team themselves having funded the site with hundreds of pounds of their own money for the first couple of years. In return for the members donations and traders fees, we have restricted the posting of adverts to those who have at least made some contribution over time - hence the posting requirements.

We know that sometimes this may be an annoyance to some, but it is done with the best interests of our members in mind. Hopefully most will be understanding in this respect.

Absolutely spot on, Chris. Could not have put it better myself.
