Bundus Posted January 20, 2009 Share Posted January 20, 2009 Just wanted to share my excitement that I am off to Vegas this Friday and wondered if anyone had some tips on some really exciting things to do? Im a big gambler and I know pretty much where to go for the best games. I also know about all the usual stuff (stratosphere rides, dancing fountains etc) so what Im really after is some advice that you wouldnt read in the books from people who have been. Where did you find were the best places to eat, drink and generally live it up? Any cool tips for fitting in and enjoying the real Vegas rather then spending my 4 days looking like a tourist and hanging out in all the same places as everyone else who has read the rough guide? I rented a convertible mustang and drove to hollywood for the day!! **edit** noticed your there for 4 days!! enjoy not sleeping Also do not miss out on the palms playboy club.....when i was there it was heffs birthday!! was crazy being at a party with him!! Whenever someone mentions vegas i get so wound up and jealous!! what ever you have heard about vegas times it by 1000 and it then might be close to what you have imagined. Im even more excited now. Been online and found out that I can skydive over the Nevada desert - awesome. Will also be doing all the Stratosphere rides over and over again lol. Cheers guys - Ill be sure to get a load of pics and vids while Im out there. Just out of interest what would be a good daily budget? PhilTheForce Posted January 22, 2009 Share Posted January 22, 2009 I spent almost my entire time in Vegas either drunk or hungover which isn't hard to do when they ply you with booze everywhere! If you're down the Excaliber/NYNY end there's a big thing called Gameworks (I think) which is a kind of 3 story indoor arcade. Only it has every ridiculously high-tech games machine you can ever think of. I played Tekken there by standing in a kind of booth that sensed your moves and made you do them fighting onscreen and that was 4 years ago! It also had the worlds biggest indoor rockface if you fancied climbing while drunk/hungover/broke/naked (Delete as necessary) What a town! We did the same a couple of years back (apart from the getting Married bit) Vegas is absolutely amazing. Spent 8 days there and still didn't manage to fit everything I wanted to do in. Things we did that were superb are Grand Canyon (a must), watch the show called "O" at the Belaggio. Go shopping in the main Fashion Mall (its huge). Go to old Vegas (by the Stratosphere)... its really awesome and a lot different to the main strip. Spend a bit of time in Cesar's Palace as its a really awesome Hotel / Casino. To be honest, as long as you just get out and about, you will have a great time regardless. Its by far and away the best holiday I have ever had. It really isn't all about gambling there... so many other things to see and do...
