REAR STRUT BRACE AND BOOT CARPET OVERHAUL...

Recommended Posts

So, after getting my boot carpeted I decided to turn to the strut brace. (Easy to remove the plastic covers). I chose black to contrast with the anthracite and here’s the results. Once again, my good friend and trusty forum member Nismoandy popped over and worked his magic with his stretchable interior carpet! It’s made a real difference to the interior boot section so really happy with how this turned out!
Shame Nissan didn’t do this from the start...but then Andy wouldn’t have earnt himself a few quid! Thanks again mate!102427548_10158863490199416_8541845831756546048_n.jpg.e31585a9483a5a58fa1efff5c18d87f2.jpg

Thanks mate, I don’t know what it’s called but it’s very stretchy and designed to be pulled and moulded into sharp recesses without creasing and distorting. Maybe message Nismoandy, he did it for me. Well worth it. Good luck with your mission!!

I like this. mine has a kind of flocked finish which has not aged well and is cracking off. was looking for a simple and clean finish I can do myself.

looks ace, is it just trimmed perfectly for the gaps? I assume you can't actually wrap it round the panels as their so tight so stretched to the edges and very neatly trimmed. looks great either way :) is it any quieter? I imagine it must absorb a bit of noise

Thanks bud, It’s wrapped under the edges...Everything was taken out, all pretty easy to remove. Then glued and refitted. Yup it quietens road noise a little too!!

The panels gaps are only a few mm is the carpet that thin? Or did the panels have to be shaved?

It’s not that thin but still clips back together ok. Didn’t need to shave the panels. It just squashes the carpet so it has a nice tight join. Nothing’s popped open so alls good!
