Passenger door unlock

Another question 

 

When unlocking my car with the fob, one press unlocks the drivers door but have to press it twice to also unlock the passenger door 

 

Is that’s normal? Seems a strange design if so!

Correct on your own, the passengers is left locked so no one  can open the door from outside.

I'm sure somewhere in the owners manual there's a way to change it between 1 or 2 stage unlocking using the fob..

Only on later cars, I don’t recall when it changed though. Toggled simply by holding the button for several seconds, iirc.

Works on any car surely? I have a 54 plate and I switched the functionality

This also works for my 05, but I left it so the passenger door stays locked.

I also have a 05 . But no keyfob..

Got buttons on my keys... how did you change it?

My 05 doesn't seem to do it either.

Hold both buttons down for a few seconds, then unlock the car with the remote key, if you've done it right both doors will unlock. If you want to revert back to only the drivers door unlocking, just repeat the procedure.
