Stew Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 I'll stick some more into photobucket and stick them up then Tim. Get up to the jockland hoon. Every pic displayed is on the route (I think....) Quote
Stew Posted April 5, 2008 Author Posted April 5, 2008 Check the national speed limit church road! 100 yards long out of a 30! I tried one of these wing mirror shots, can't get it though, any tips??? All pics were taken on my Panasonic Lumix with Leica lens. Just a pocket camera but seems to do the job for me! Quote
Sarnie Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Some of those pics look like NZ or even Japan with the snow covered mountains! Superb mate Quote

Ebized Posted April 5, 2008 Posted April 5, 2008 Great pics Stew - see you use the same camera as me. Wonderful driving roads but I see that they do get a little conjested, so hoping the drive out mooted for later in the year up there takes place, thought you should have a new sign put up ) Quote

If you like the pics and fancy driving 'abroad' then stick your name down for the Jockland Hoon. No excuses about it being far as I'm driving across two countries for Wales on the 11th of May! Quote

Stew Posted April 6, 2008 Author Posted April 6, 2008 Well here is my milage round up Day 1 - 275 miles getting to ullapool the long way! Day 2 - 220 miles Ullapool to Durness and back to Ullapool using the scenic route. Day 3 - 195 miles Ullapool to Skye via Applecross Day 4 - 235 miles Skye to Gairloch the longest way possible. Day 5 - 215 miles Gairloch to Inverness (the lady shopped) and home to Aberdeen via Aviemore and over the Lecht Ski Centre. That was it. Loads of miles, a few fill ups and some of the best roads I've ever experienced. Me and the Zed came back feeling very attached. Quote
Stew Posted April 6, 2008 Author Posted April 6, 2008 My camera skills leave a lot to be desired Mike but it gives you the idea! A picture really doesn't do the scenery justice! Applecross really is a must! If it encourages more people to meet up there too it can only be a good thing! Quote
