Flashback Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Hey guys, I was doing a bit of cleaning yesterday just to tidy up the engine bay a bit and noticed a lot of crap on my nicely polished plenum. Yes a couple of things that didn't really clean it up, so was thinking of using some Chemical Guys light metal polish that I have. Do you think it will be ok to use? Here's a picture of the plenum as it is right now... Quote
Mopedmark Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 What you want is some Mothers Billet Polish, it is the best stuff Quote
-Bradders- Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 The answer you want is yes, metal polish will be fine. Quote
MikeyM Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 What you want is some Mothers Billet Polish, it is the best stuff Hey Mark, what's your recommendation for cleaning the throttle body ? As in, getting into all the tight little places on it Quote
veilside z Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Metal polish and elbow grease buddy. You could send the throttle body to Mark to be done properly and the bonnet catch. Quote

Both have already had Marks magic touch, it's the maintaining of that gleam.. I was wondering what little tool people used that worked well in all the small gaps etc 😎 1 Quote
Olly350z Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 A question for Mark, could you not clear coat the plenum to help it maintain its shine? Or would it not adhere for various reasons? Quote
Mopedmark Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 You could clear coat But the ally will still breath and over time it could be messy, a clear powder coat would work better but it will take away from the polishing 1 Quote

To get in small gaps using the cloth I've used everything from ear buds, match sticks and lolly pop sticks to rules (rulers) and old drill bits ~ with the cloth wrapped over the item. 2 Quote

Well yeah I could do, but as they came from Mark last summer that would be a little lazy. I just need to spend a little effort... Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk Quote
