Introducing the Jockland Hoon!

A drive out in Scotland taking in some of the finest scenery the UK has to offer!

The plan (still to be finalised) is to take in the legendary Applecross Pass among some other great roads. The highlights will be the scenery, the technical twisties and the long straights! There will be photo stops and lunch out too.

Something for everyone! :yahoo:

If the other half isn't content with this then make a weekend of it and take her shopping in either Glasgow or Edinburgh. The route will be close enough to commute to either afterwards! Or perhaps a distillery tour for the whisky lovers amongst you!

So all that needs to be decided (before the route is finalised) is when you folks want to descend on this fair nation!

Voted August for me, as July I get my ball and chain. :)

Depends on the final date as to whether July is out alltogether. Would be great to get a good meet up in Scotland, and Ive never driven in Scotland either :teeth:

August would be best for me, depending on the date(s) chosen. This could be good (though I haven't mentioned it to her indoors yet!)

Well done, Stew, for getting this started.

Ok, after speaking with some knowledgable people I think we have a route!

It's about a 180 mile loop and takes in loads of places!

What does everybody think?

Sounds great for a long weekend out. Couple of DF Mars bars for energy and bring it on :yahoo:

180 miles is a run to the shops up north ;)

4-6 hours is a run to the shops in the south.....

I do have a shorter route planned but wanted to give you that option first. I'm doing the 180 mile one as a 'test' sometime soon. :teeth::teeth:

The extended version is up to 430 miles!

I'll let the masses decide later!
