PMX Posted January 5, 2016 Posted January 5, 2016 Quick question, does the 370z boot lid suffer from the same problem as the 350z boot lid?....and more importantly, is the fix the same? (penny trick!) Quote
PMX Posted January 5, 2016 Author Posted January 5, 2016 Thanks, will sort this over the next couple of days then. Can't believe Nissan didn't resolve this issue between models?? Oh well, easy fix.... Quote

RobZed Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 is this why i have to push the boot release button 3 times lol Quote
Jonny B Posted July 12, 2016 Posted July 12, 2016 I took the useless weight thing that's bolted to the inside of the boot lid out the other week. It releases first time now no problem. Quote

I haven't seen the member trader (peteman35) who used to do this since around 2014 so no chance of getting those I'm afraid. Link: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/78643-boot-popperassist-springs-reconditioning/ How have I missed the 'penny trick'? What's involved? Very simple to do, I'll let the pictures & the guide below show you how.... Penny trick guide here: http://www.350z-uk.com/topic/35706-the-penny-trick/ One thing though ~ Do not use pennies as they can rip through the rubber boots ~ the better option is nylon washers or plastic tap washers. Does the same job. is this why i have to push the boot release button 3 times lol Yes. Try the penny trick and also removing the boot weight can greatly help. Scooby67 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 I took the useless weight thing that's bolted to the inside of the boot lid out the other week. It releases first time now no problem. I did this at the weekend as my Nismo suffered from the boot lid not opening first time and i also had a rattle from the boot lid at low speeds which was driving me mad! Now it's perfect, only took about ten mins to do! Quote
sipar69 Posted October 10, 2016 Posted October 10, 2016 Don't count your chickens...you might find that the fault returns when it gets colder. I had to do both the penny trick and weight removal (although the big Nismo mk1 spoiler probably accounts for that). Quote
