R88RPE Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 And the bloody diff bush is busted and AC belt has been shredded So good job I work at a car dealership and I can work on my own car at weekends! Getting that bush out was a complete bastard While the diff is out I decided to waxoyl the underbody, paint the diff and change the oil Now I'm waiting for parts Iv been reading loads of horror stories about the rev up engines now... Maybe the z was a bad choice! Haha Quote
ZMANALEX Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Just fabricated a tool today for removing the bushing so hopefully I wont have the same issues as you have had. Looking good though. It is jobs like these where a ramp and a transmission hydraulic jack comes in real handy. Alex. Quote
R88RPE Posted August 1, 2015 Author Posted August 1, 2015 I was going to attempt it on axle stands at home... Soooooo glad I didn't. We tried to pull the bush first but there was no chance it was solid so the hacksaw had to make a guest appearance! Quote
Zeezeebaba Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Haha good old hacksaw standard equipment along with the heat gun when it comes to working under a Z. Quote
gareth29 Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Nice to have the option of not working on the drive - looks like a horrible job Quote
Ebized Posted August 1, 2015 Posted August 1, 2015 Iv been reading loads of horror stories about the rev up engines now... Maybe the z was a bad choice! Haha From what we understand the pistons in the rev-up engines were not made in the same place as the earlier DE engined ZEDs, including the GT4's. "Ken" the GT4 registrar on here has not heard of a GT4 engine having the same oil issues as the rev-up ZEDs. 1 Quote
jimmy.farrow7 Posted August 2, 2015 Posted August 2, 2015 Your car looks very clean mate nice and shiny Quote
R88RPE Posted August 2, 2015 Author Posted August 2, 2015 Haha it is shiny I just waxed it. No pictures of the waxoyl. I used the clear one heated up and put in a spray gun, I'm not a fan of the black one as it seems to dry out over time Quote
HiddenWomble Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 Please don't post pics like that. I'm saving up for a zed and I'm trying to stay colour agnostic. I have a real soft spot for black and seeing such perfect curves in shiny black is not helping Quote
Rock_Steady Posted August 3, 2015 Posted August 3, 2015 For that to happen in the first week is just rude IMO. Quote
R88RPE Posted August 3, 2015 Author Posted August 3, 2015 (edited) Black cars look great when they've just been cleaned, 10min drive and they look filthy again haha Bushes were promised to be here today... Haven't turned up! At least the new belts are fitted Edited August 3, 2015 by R88RPE Quote
