at least you've heard something and know what the problem is now i'd keep ringing them once/twice a week to keep them focused and to get them to put it with another garage sooner rather than later if it's not resolved quickly best of luck

have you tried speaking to them (rather than emailing) and asking to speak to someone senior and telling them you're not happy and are thinking of taking things further? kick up a fuss. if they think they can fob you off they'll probably just continue to tbh, i doubt the CAB would have the specialist legal knowledge to be able to assist in any great depth

Hi andy I went a few years ago, stayed on kurfurstendam. Was good sat outside the hotel with a glass of wine watching the many porsches and amg mercs using the street as a bit of a race track in the evening! Went up the tv tower on Alexander platz which is worth doing cos you can see the difference between the east and west. Went to the Reichstag aswell, if you go, go early otherwise you'll be queueing for hours-not sure it's worth it tbh though. Check point Charlie museum is good and there are nice Places to stop for kafe und kuchen on unter den linden. Found a couple of good restaurants one was a vegetarian indian and it was really good. The waiter looked exactly like Valentino rossi aswell ! Unfortunately I've no idea where the restaurants were cos it was a few years ago ! One of them may have been near Alexander platz behind a main street in a cobbled area with quite a few restaurants/bars together and loads of seating outside a boat trip along the canals/river was also good and you get to see the buildings etc from a different perspective I really liked it and want to go back some day

i used to have a mk 1 mx-5 and loved it. mine was a v-spec import in black. it had the mustard interior but although it doesn't sound good it really grew on you. it had leather and a wooden steering wheel and gearknob etc and the best bit was the speakers in the seat headrests! the pile on the carpets and mats was really thick aswell (dark brown mats as i remember!). it wasn't the quickest thing in the world but felt as though it was when you were driving it! i think i'll end up getting another one at some point - space on driveway permitting! a good tip i discovered to demist the rear window was to put the fan on full and direct the centre airvents over your shoulder with air con on and it cleared it quite quickly there are also some drain holes somehere in the bodywork that you need to keep unblocked, otherwise it'll start to rust from the inside out. can't remember exactly where they are but have a look on the various forums as it was a common thing to look out for is it a 1.6 or 1.8 and what year? the early 1.6s are supposed to be the best engines. also do the elec windows work still? that was another common problem!

thought i'd put mine up aswell:- '77 mk1 polo in electric blue colour. was when i was 17 ! '89 peugeot 205. was falling apart by the end and the passenger door didn't open so passengers had to get in and out dukes of hazzard style. i had to get in through the boot once in my suit for work cos all the other doors were frozen up! had interesting overheating tendancies - usually going uphill on the m62 at anything above 50mph without heaters on full blast '92 mk1 import v-spec mx-5. black with mustard interior. loved this car and still wish i'd been able to keep it '52 mini cooper s works (the only one i seem to have easily accesible pics for!). was great fun . marzman may recognise it - especially the back of it '52 GM zed version ST. had to sell cos of future arrival of baby zed '58 (1958 that is!) wolseley 1500 and most recently the GV !! the most worrying thing is that the years of the first few cars makes me seem really old - but they were 10 yr + old cars when i had them !!
