  1. need a second layer of wax and some sun cream, pasty irish + sun = lobster
  2. good stuff beavis, hope to see you there, ill be there by 8, shouldnt be able to miss a bright yellow zed, a few more yellow and black and we could have the largest/quickest wasp ever to grace the m6
  3. pm sent Ill be at keele services for about 8ish if anyone fancies joining me, though i have no satnav
  4. im in coventry so will be travelling up the m6, including toll if anyone wants to meet at services somewhere?
  5. i test drove one of these before deciding on the new shape s3, just felt and drove so much better, and even with the lsd it is still prone to loosing grip where it shouldnt... has potential, also if anyone has seen the handbrake im just not sure id get used to that, its like a throttle from an airplane... (also point out i brought the zed on the way to placing order of S3 and never looked back )
  6. I have tried both types of cables and personally I cant notice the difference, I would however suggest anything over 1m ish needs a better cable, H5 is right, there IS a difference, but unless you know specifically what your looking for (and its over 1m) i wouldnt bother, im using a £30 belkin which is silver or gold ran for 1.5m and its spot on Also, i am a cable snob so if it had made a difference to me I would of got a £55+ one. The wires leading to the speakers almost bankrupt me It will be such an upgrade youll be blown away anyway
  7. make sure you have a TV stand that can take the weight of the TV, unless wall mounting, I found the pana easy to set up with a great picture in everything ive thrown at it, though im starting to wish it had blurred out the guy streaking at the snooker ahwell also, just in case you didnt know (as i didnt) dont lye the plasma on its side at any point, keep it upright. Good choice of TV, now just need to get another Zed
  8. the Xbox 360 didnt used to come with HDMI out, i had mine replaced under warranty recently and it now has the HDMI out on it, im unsure when the change over happened as i had my 360 from day 1... If you dont have a hdmi out on your 360 i now have a spare VGA cable, which is certainly capable of 720p. I dont think you need that QED box just yet... always something you could get in the future tho...
  9. i meant scart, sorry... being forced into wiifit step aerobics has affected my way of thinking
  10. my boss has a 50" sony with sky hd in it, looks good when what they are watching has been filmed in hd, other than that the upscaling is so so, The TV has 3 HDMI sockets all capable of 1080p 360/ps3 will require 2 of them, the Wii runs in standard def and just needs a composite cable in, the tv runs that at 540p is it? (someone correct me?) The way I have mine setup is running through my AMP with the sound going through the TV back to the amp, which if you have a surround sound system is the way you want it done Although if you have both 360 and ps3 why would you want a dvd player as well? (which you would have enough spare sockets for if needed) The screen picked up the highest native res of everything ive put in it so far... including my PC. Also comes with panasonics own TV guide (like sky) I havent noticed any blur/or pixelation or issues with blacks/brightness or skin tone (which is a good test), well happy
  11. Liam, Got it from Currys because we needed a microwave/hoover/tv stand/chairs, turned up on the day and they had a 15% off deal off TV's so, 1300- 15% about 200 ish, I got them to give me a free hoover, free extended warranty, free microwave with warranty, free cables, £70 for tv stand, and got them to pay for my taxi home. If you can get one I would heartily recommend it, it is an awesome set. Just waiting for my ps3/gt5 to arrive now
  12. That is incredible, i want one, now where did i leave that £60k v-spec should be interesting...
  13. im not in anyway condoning violence against inlaws but take a look at this anyway http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,150007,00.html
  14. ill admit the balance games are good fun actually, but not worth £55
  15. At the start you get to choose your trainer, both of which are 'in shadow' from the various curves i chose the female thinking it would be something to look at whilst training, i was wrong on two counts 1. She is always in shadow and looks like something out of a horror movie.(Think small girl from the Resident Evil movie) 2. Women are definitely more flexible than men. Words of Warning I would suggest no one tries the yoga, insane b!tch was more flexible than my old stretch armstrong... i fell over twice Non human entities (inc zedrush) dont seem to tire from pushups, i however do, quickly Jogging on the spot with a glass of wine isnt a good idea Suffice to say I failed and have been told 'i have to have another go' Meanwhile the Misses who chose the bloke for the same reasons i chose the woman seems to be getting on ok
  16. the Ski Jumping is a laugh when drunk tho im worried im going to break the board, having a game telling you to jump without jumping is quite off putting when half cut, ive been told i have to 'give the wiifit a go' this evening, i will report back tomorrow with conclusion
  17. humm, sounds interesting, ill have to give that a go... we have crash bandacoot or something as well but not opened that yet, GTA4/Forza is getting more use on the 360
  18. anyone else made the same mistake as me and purchased wiifit? (zedrush please ignore) plugged it in, got on it, was told i was 'a fat b*sdtard', then proceeded to play the balance games whilst eating fried chicken. brain training is more rewarding as im good at that, am i missing the point? I have only had the 'wii' for about 2 weeks, bizarre thing that it is!
  19. The Kuro's have great reviews, sl114, im a big fan of forza, so anytime you want a race let me know my tag is Team Lizard
  20. i got the 42" Panasonic PZ85B, awesome screen, well happy, even got them to pay for my taxi home as wouldnt fit in the car (obviously) though the salesman said they had someone try and get onei n a 911 the week before, lol! xbox 360 replaced under warranty arrived the same day, which now has a HDMI out on the back, plugged straight in and found as 1080p, still unpacking the rest of the house but I do have the lounge done
  21. I leave mine set to about 7000, it only warns you, doesnt actually limit it, i only set it lower when the misses drives it as she thinks somethings wrong
  22. that looks mint, great job... cant wait to see it in the flesh!!!
  23. Thanks for the post drewbie, the 42" pana was the one i really wanted, just right at the top end of the budget.. I have an onkyo 5.1 amp with more than enough audio equipment,4 missions/b&w sub an centre so i certainly dont care about the quality of the TV speaker (Thanks student loan company) Ive been told that you cant lay a plasma on its side? Is that true???
  24. interesting post H5, im having a look at reviews of that now, thanks
  25. Thanks for the replies, I dont watch TV, only movies and play games, only watch TV series when i can get the box set (im unsure if thats sad or not...) So SD doesnt appeal to much, hoping with the films etc it should be able to upscale well enough etc... Good to hear your liking the sony with the ps3, do you rate movies through it as well, are you using anything to upscale the signal?
