the crazy looking guy looked like a cross between chris evans and bon jovi, very disturbing on both accounts... if your a regular pod goer let me know next time your there an ill make sure ill come over and say hi hope you get the ECU sorted, MrL
-
i recorded 14.010 @ 102mph standard 06 you cant take the reaction time out as lotuscc mentioned.
-
+1 with what adam said with a boot load of tools and the spare tyre, a tank full of fuel and my first ever run at pod (well 3rd having taken tc off) i ran 14.010 i expect to beat that with no mods... i saw your zed at the weekend @ pod, tho you looked deep in convo with some crazy looking guy so didnt say hi

played liam! congratz dont think lambo do a small 4 door with a child seat tho bud
-
Right, well ive fixed it with some help from a m8 who knows how to use a welder, there were two cables, within each was 2 wires, one for each of the 4 sensors. Removed the right rear light cluster and cable tied the wiring loom to the wire leading to the rear tail light, there isnt that much pull on it and it definitely wont hit the exhaust now Ta for the comments

I left mine in gear with the handbrake off as well, heat transfer not good, tho i need some new pads anyway! -
ok so i know what happened now, a friend of mine who is a mechanic and also who im going in with the track car project spotted it. where the sensors are there is maybe 10ft of spare wire that has been bunched up, tied in a knot and was just hanging there. This stopped just after i came off the track at silverstone, basically the exhaust had heated up so much it has melted the cable onto itself So now i need to re-cable the sensor and unstick it from the exhaust which must be shorting it out. Can anyone tell me if this is a standard option on 350z or if you think it might be an aftermarket job? The cable looks like mains house cable! ta Steve

Thanks for organising that Rob was a fantastic day, and certainly gave me a taste for track days aside from the lunatic in the Integra Choptop, buddy I hope you get your car sorted, shame you left though i understand why, hope it doesnt deter you in the future would be good to see you again! -
lol i will try the battery thing, nissan tell me £25+vat to put it on diagnostics that the guy said probably wouldnt fix, then £79+vat per hour till fixed.... ill let people know after the battery, its not as if i cant park but just annoying having something that loud beep at you ta guys
-
Hi All, After ragging the car round silverstone on the weekend my reverse parking sensor doesnt work, it has a low and then high pitched beep constantly, a beep i havent heard before no matter how close i have got to the object behind me. This beep doesnt alter no matter what i do. Having come from an audi, boy is the service different. Sorry sir any factory fitted options only have a 12 month warranty Can anyone help?

Assumed there would be helmets for hire?? Do you think it best to buy one before hand? (altho that wont help my passenger) Good point on the towing eye, though ive heard before that it is a pre-requisite to have it in the car not on the car but we shall see what Mr H5 says -

hi all, I have decided to get the car insured with a company called Moris, quite a reasonable quote at £100 for the day, shame it will only count for 15 minutes but ive never been on track at silverston before. If anyone is interested in a quote I suggest you go here http://www.moris.co.uk/ -
indeed, thanks for the comments on the pads and engine etc.. ill certainly have a look at some reviews. See you on the track

still deciding at the moment, list so far plenum spacer pop charger (possibly) exhaust (the esr own one) coilover set possibly brakes (depending how i get on round silverstone in a couple of weeks) Tyres (would like to get some nice sticky tyres for good weather) Appreciate most of these wont make any difference to drag times but will be interesting none the less Id like to shed some weight from it as well but with only two seats and my inbuilt fear of getting a flat tyre that isnt easy Stuey, that NSX is does she use that for competition stuff or is the spoiler for show?
-
christ, 11 is v quick, i expect i will need a couple of turbos to get anywhere near that... let me know next time your down there stuey, been a long time since ive seen a good example of an NSX.
-
lotuscc, i reckon the zed is capable of a 13.8, when i was driving it still wasnt convinced on the lauch, and i managed to terminal faster on a slower time so there is obviously something funky going on with my Launch V Gear changing Was a great day, wanted a before/after visit to big phils. ill probably put a few more runs in before going all the way to sunderland and back,
-
aye i also beat 2 clio/williams stripped out with a lot of mods. didnt beat the 4.7L camaro i raced tho
-
the bridgestone potenza's. which i wouldnt rate that highly, especially in the wet, however i span the back wheels up to the start line which basically scrubbed them and got a load of other peoples hot tread attached to it seemed to work well, people there were suggesting i dropped the tyre pressure but i didnt... thoughts?
-
Hi all, just thought I would post some pics up if anyone is interested. Was a great day, my first properly dragging a car that can 'shift'... ran 5 times, 1st time was 15.1 which after taking TC off and getting the tyres nice and hot I got down to 14.001, there is obviously a 13.8ish somewhere in the car but as i get better im sure ill break 14 Car handled it well, used hardly any oil, tyres were ok, maybe had the pressure a bit high but we will see, Thanks to mike from the zclub who entered me into their drag competition and gave me some tips along the way. One more mention, the car performed very well, the pull from standstill with sticky rubber is immense, ta steve
