  1. this worried me quite a lot, not that I would ever break the limit, took my vid of driving around in my atom down a few days ago, the guy is on the atom forum and is obviously not happy, I don't know all the details but it certainly seems that he must have been unlucky with the statement, driving an atom with one hand is very hard, the use of the phone was silly, with no power steering it is dangerous..
  2. awesome project VR, the rays are lighter but you gain more from the width of the rota's having tried both having said that some huge width rays would be better also add the triple adjustable AST to your list
  3. very interested in the headers!
  4. I really like the triple adjustable AST race suspension - incredible adjustability and very reliable, have tried different springs with it and could highly recommend for track application
  5. get a heated front windscreen thats what i did with no heater/aircon though there are times where aircon would be nice! also lexan works very well though the curve in the side windows is hard to replicate.
  6. 380whp would be hard to acheive from an NA build on a budget, i think you would really have to spend quite a bit of money and do a lot of work on the intake and headers... ive looked into this countless times and although something is occurring now id be happy with 380 at the fly
  7. the reason its so heavy is the subframes and the materials used are mostly steal, apart from the aluminium bonnet (which people replace for carbon :S ) The good news is that steal subframes are strong and when you put some proper suspension on it the car is a lot of fun
  8. you need a heated front screen m8, though mine only works on the passenger side now Also removed the aircon/heater
  9. I got mine to 1350 but there is still a bit we could remove, all the weight that is left has tried to be kept as low to the ground as possible, also we cant lose anymore weight due to race regs the power->weight... For me the thing that really made the car feel different chucking it about was the seats and the doors, much more planted
  10. I was initially of the same opinion, then I looked at the book again and there's no way the section with the dragon could have been very exciting in film, nor padded out without the chase scenes etc. Lets face it, Smaug is the core of the book and has to be a centrepiece of the films, so they had to make the most of it. Even then, I found myself a bit bored by the whole extended dragon chase. I preferred the Dol Guldur sections. Enjoyed it, but wished they'd only made two films of it. The Battle of the Five armies is going to have to fill a lot of the next one. I do agree, i wonder how much of the next one will be of the journey home post 5 army battle.
  11. saw the film on friday, thought it was excellent as was the first, i did however think they could have spent longer on the forest scene and the bit with bjorn and less time with the barrels, i also thought the bit with smaug was unnecessarily different from the book, seemed a bit american action film esque and a little odd for me, still thought it was ace and will be going again tomorrow
  12. That doesnt change through 2nd and 3rd line
  13. Worth understanding but although I do quite a lot of networking i always use a calculator, ive had to use the binary method about twice this year.. ipv6 is also fun where are you based?
  14. I wouldnt mount the shoulder straps to the rear strut brace, wrapping them around it i would think was ok assuming there is no sharp edges but putting the eyelet thing into it i wouldnt do, there is a min spec of width the fia require (which you obviously dont need to adhere to) but its worth mounting it into a decent thickness of metal, a bar would be better. the others we mounted into the transmission tunnel and the floor.
  15. used 2500's on track a lot, with the standard brembo's and with AP and DBA, fantastic pads, definitely get the lines braided and use decent fluid, i think someone suggested motul, i second that. Whoever suggested wearing your current setup out i would strongly disagree with, you never know when you might need to do an emergency stop on track (or off) and that being the point where your brakes only work to 80% isnt worth thinking about. Im currently using DS3000's but the car isnt used on the road, i think 2500's would be spot on
  16. sorry to hear about this dan, i think what you have said in terms of rethinking what grip was available for the two tyres on different surfaces must have been it, i had an incident at brands where i span almost the whole way down from druids across the grass and over graham hill, turned out something had got stuck under one of the wheels, only for a second preventing it from rotating at the same speed giving me slightly different amount of grip with the power on and immediately sent the car into a full spin.... Glad your ok Steve
  17. I guess that slicks generate far more mechanical grip than aero will at those speeds. So with slicks you'd actually be creating drag with the spoiler and it would be detrimental? (It is very nice btw!) spot on, the data we got back showed the car was quicker without it in corners as well as straights, until we had to use semi-slicks
  18. we found the spoiler doesnt make any difference on an NA zed with slicks on as there is so much grip and not enough speed, but with less grippy tyres like r888's on a greasy or wet track can be nice shameless plug for the ings+1 low mount
  19. clip of the motordyne pic of the back box, or lack of what im using for cats
  20. 92ish db, been round most of the uk tracks never had an issue with static or flyby, i would say mine sounds very different at diff rpm tho ie between 4k and 4.5k rpm, ill be fine =)
  21. motordyne here and no noise issues, also no cats
  22. I think they might want another £30 a sensor Which Ecu are you using might depend on the ecu as we had some issues with throttle position/ brake position until we switched to a different ecu...
  23. crumbs they seem to have shot up in price... :s Does the £500 for the other one include all the sensors or are they extra?
