  1. I've used the 29i before, hence the recommendation for that one. EBT would be okay as well. No experience of CT1 to comment. Depends on what you mean as 'thinly'. You need a good even coverage, but there's no point in either slapping it on and watching it squeeze out everywhere only for you to wipe it all off, but nor is it a good idea to have it so thin that you have poor contact between ally and glass.
  2. Fine on both, but you just need to be a bit more careful upon removal if it's on paint. No sharp knives etc.
  3. It takes effort and a good solvent and a lot of time, but doable. Not an easy job by any means though.
  4. I wouldn't use any tape to bond anything there at all, it just doesn't have anywhere near the required strength. I assume you're attaching some louvres to the rear glass? Just use TigerSeal, or even better Sikaflex 29i instead. You really, really don't want that flying off at speed.
  5. I'd be all over that if it came back in fashion. +1 I'd love to have my old orange/yellow/purple t-shirt back again. That was effin' awesome.
  6. I was never cool enough for Spliffy stuff
  7. Fluorescent laces were the rage when I were a lad
  8. Football shirts are like skateboarding: Only okay if you're under 15.
  9. I'm going to send you one now. PM me your address. Or if anyone else has it, PM me Col's address

Car forums are indeed full of people who want light cars that handle well with a good amount of power and a good manual gearbox. Sadly these people are not going out and buying cars like that in any great numbers, and the folks who want something with great 0-60 times for willy-waving down the pub along with a premium badge are on the increase. That's life.
  11. Then buy a proper warm hat, not a chavvy one. Pfft, philistine.
  12. I guess the previous owner must've removed it. That's pretty harsh then, you have my sympathies.
  13. Should've sat in the car, let him start it, pretend to get really excited then just p*ss yourself all over the seats.
  14. Oof, good shout. Or belts that are miles too long and then not tucked in.
  15. The theory is sound, but how much voltage stabilising do you think you need? Modern batteries are superb, no need for any of this rubbish that just adds one more thing to go wrong.
  16. Bloody useless. You'll never get a sale like that, unless someone's a mug. No local VW main dealers? Should be more helpful.
  17. Snake oil. If you're not having electrical problems, then don't introduce an unknown magic box that could cause them.
  18. I would say that it's the single biggest contributory factor, yes. Not trying to poke a man when he's down, but why did you think that? Do you not have a 98RON ONLY sticker under your fuel cap?
  19. Any item of clothing with a Ferrari badge on it. It all just looks so amazingly tacky. Superdry clothing. More chav than Burberry ever was. A hat (other than a baseball cap worn purely to keep the sun off my face when out and about). I'd love to get a nice fedora and strut around like a boss, but every one I've ever tried makes me look like a kid who has pinched his Dad's hat for Dressing Up Day at primary school.

And they barely sold any IFAs. GT-R is hardly flying off the shelves like it was when it was £55K. Don't get wrong, I don't give a toss about badges either which is why I bought a Vauxhall over a Lotus, but the market as a whole would not be buying a Toyota when you can get the BMW for £10K more.

£50K in '93 would be £93K today, adjusted for inflation. I'd expect that to be about right. I don't know where BMW will pitch their version, given the i8 exists at close to that price point. However, no-one in their right mind will pay £90K for a Toyota. Tbh, I can't see anyone paying £50K for a Toyota!
  22. It's a racecar, you couldn't get a GT-R or Porsche to run in the same class for that money. HP and torque are absolutely fine, if they went any further they'd go up a class and be well outgunned then.
