  1. I have no idea where else to put this so I'll chuck it in here! I'm planning on making the above trip at the end of April, and using it as an opportunity to explore some other parts of Scotland while I'm at it. Since we've got an incredible breadth of members on here, I was wondering if anyone had any advice on either the route I'm planning to take or the hotels I'm looking at staying in? The route Staying at: Lands End hotel Seaview hotel Cluny Bank hotel Poppies hotel Premier Inn Cramlington The route is only very rough for now and I know I'll have to change it at some point, but I think it looks okay atm. The route up there will be dull as ditchwater until I get to Scotland as I need to make time rather than fun roads, and I will definitely be altering the route from Newcastle back to Braintree, but that's about as far as my plans have gotten me so far. I'm really looking forward to it, in a perverse oh-my-god-what-am-I-doing kind of way!
  2. Daily driver: 997.2 C2S Weekend: S1 Elise Classic: V12 E-Type ragtop Supercar: Carrera GT Shits and giggles: Dodge Ram SRT-10
  3. Dry the car properly after washing it with a drying towel, and then apply a coat of DJ Red Mist or, as mentioned, Megs Last Touch. You'll get no water marks then after washing the car
  4. Christ on a bike, most of you lot are as bad as the X5 driver! An X5 is a bloody good vehicle, and if I wanted an SUV that's where my money would go. An MX-5 is utterly brilliant fun and a good driver in one will leave an average driver in a 350Z for dead on country lanes. Z4 is far more capable than people give it credit for, too. Who cares what others say? No car is perfect at everything, there's always a compromise that won't impress someone, so ignore it. Personally I respond to hairdresser comments with an offer of a quick cut and blow dry, might as well join in on the joke! And yes, that does make me just another flash w*nker in a Porsche with no taste!
  5. That. Is. Awesome. Seriously Neil, that looks incredible and they've obviously done an amazing job with it. Well done, sir!

    Tyre Help

I just want to know why you'd want to run such large tyres at the front, and what you're planning on running on the rear?
  7. Yep think I went out with her when I was younger. (a lot younger ) Beat me to it, I was going to ask what about the car though

    What do you think?

All the cool kids have black wheels witha polished lip I do prefer the original colour though, you lose a lot of the detail when you go black.
  9. Fugly. Interior's fairly smart though.
  10. When in a spin, both feet in. Might not make you any faster, but it sure as hell is likely to save you when things go wrong.

Your car appears to be missing two wheels

    The 400 Z ?

    If a Z4M coupe had a threesome with an RX-8 and a 370Z...
  13. Someone else said that yesterday, I presumed they were joking, I'm guessing not now! Any links matey? Once a year is hardly every five minutes.
  14. What on earth did you put on it?! I don't really regret too much when it comes to cars, I'd rather look at everything I do as an experience rather thana mistake. I guess I might put down moving from the Zed before I'd gotten to do everything to her that I wanted, but then I'm now in my dream car so I can hardly complain.
  15. Where do you stop though? Do you end up with 27 different forums all containing a few threads each, or do you keep them all in the one place? As per the way PH does it, I don't bother reading 3/4 of the OT forums there as they don't interest me as a rule, however on the odd occasion I browse them there's the odd thread or two worth clicking. Still not enough to make me read that section every time, though. Personally I like the OT section here as it is, it's nice and varied and you never quite know what you're going to get.
  16. A whole page in The Sun on them both today, too.
  17. Rich mentioned the Swissvax waxes earlier, and having gone from Megs liquid wax to Dodo Juice to Swissvax Zuffenhousen, I can honestly say it's really worth the extra dosh. One coat is all my car has seen so far, and a quick wash + Red Mist has it looking stunning again. Really impressive stuff, if you're into your car cleaning then I'd say it's well worth investing in a pot. After all, it's only the price of a tank and a half of fuel these days.
  18. No, you're not missing anything, this is quite old news now. Your postcode and claims history will make far more difference than the new groupings ever would.
  19. Stll fantastic, but as a current owner there's nothing there to make want an upgrade.
  20. The whole engine will be under positive pressure when on boost, I assume the hissing there on idle too? If that's the case, then there's probably a leak somewhere and given the oil in the spark plug wells, it's safe to assume there's a small leak there. I'm guessing there's no warranty left?
  21. I think it's just Martin, I never had any of these issues with mine
  22. I hate to say it, but that's going to be nigh-on undriveable on anything other than slicks on a very dry day. You'll constantly be pointing backwards unless you're Jenson Button, although you're Dad might well be capable of handling it for all I know. If you imagine that an R500 doesn't exactly hang about, and that's got a much lighter engine up front...
  23. Ooh, biggest and most important thing to do is to get a good night's sleep the night before! I usually struggle with that part, and yet the difference between me tired and buzzing on adrenaline and me wide awake and in full control is like night and day; I'm a billion times smoother after a good sleep. Easier said than done when you're exited though!
