  1. This good advice actually folks will have a twiddle with my knobs mind you - on a soft top there is so much background noise it hardly matters I suppose!!
  2. There you go Nixy one for you http://www.citroenet.org.uk/utilities/nemo/nemo1.html Seriously Mart - if you want a decent long distance briuser for work then diesel is the way to go - I would recommend a compromise between van and car though - get a Nissan Pathfinder ( I loved mine and its built like the proverbial brick convenience) Only time Nissan put decent paint on - they are going for cheap money now as they are Evil 4x4's but I was getting a decent mpg out of it and its got bags of room for shifting Zed parts and photography gear for Liz Gone but not forgotten
  3. No I dont think so but give he time- in the mean time you can get swirly plates from Mr Photo and Mr Shop - care of Adode - they are free and you can select any style you want!
  4. Yes its the 3rd dial in the centre console - one with a square facia - use the speedo facia buttons to move between the displays.
  5. Mart you know you just need one of these - handy when you need to transport Zed bonnets that you seem to accumulate !
  6. Thanks Nic - but I wont wear a pinny for anyone!
  7. Just as long your ok at the end of it Mines been more twichy than a Second Hand Nissan car salesman yesterday in the rain - cant put any power down and not on a greasy roundabout!! Teaches you respect for the car I think!
  8. ooer put diesel in it Stew!! Sorry its probably still in the waste and collector trays etc behind the drum - put a hot wash on with nothing in there - put something like soda crystal instead -to degrease but check they are safe to put in a machine first - should do the trick - works for oil and diesel anyway!!
  9. Mart go for it if you really like it but,, over all it will cost you more to run than a Zed and also the parts a very expensive even from aftermarket shops ? Get a cheeky little MR2 roadster - 48mpg on average! Cheap, solid, reliable and fun! (just like me!!)
  10. They are not smudged out thats how we have our number plates -its great you just drive at 130 mph past speed cameras and they cant do nowt!!

    Hello!!!!

Yo!! Welcome back matey good to hear from you! Glad you get to keep the Zed!
  12. The other thing I was thinking is just to get some Humbrol model paint that matches that grey - or just a grey primer and dab the spots with a fine watercolour brush?
  13. I know it does'nt sound very cool but if it works who cares!! Be patient with it - trick is to smear it out with your fingers after good luck
  14. hope you get them sorted soon - dont worry it happens to us all - I need to sort mine - its just strato Silver I think from any car place - easy - bit of filler to hide the gashes, smooth over with some wet and dry paper spot of primer and topcoat - just dont spray the side of your wing by mistake!! good luck with it - any pics of your car for the forum?
  15. Hi Mike Ok will get the pictures uploaded and right up a little something -will let you know.
  16. Hi - well thats the same kind of damage as mine and it fixed mine -(although not as bad as yours) because they are those tiny dots - it gets in between and hides the scratch. Let me know how you get on - trouble is that is a thin vinyl embossed sheet that is bonded to the plastic shell and your not going to reproduce it unless you want to go for the 1940's MG crackled dash look - which you can do with that special paint. There are compaines that will fix the dash - they replicated the pattern but for the cost its not worth the money ? Where are you located? If your nearish to Manchester I can pop over and do it for you, if you like? Failing that just pop down to your nearest poundshop and buy a set of crayons - put it this way for the cost involved its got to be better than staring at those scratches!
  17. Sorry folks but I wont be able to make this event now - I was'nt 100% sure when I put my name down as I knew there was a lot of 'system go-lives' and other work happening over most weekends in August at my works - unfortuately I was right? Sorry - Look forward to seeing the pictures though
  18. Come on Adam put the box Brownie down and the proper camera fired up - fresh pics please
  19. They are all very nic pics folks - but you really need a culture shot I mean how many Zeds have got Bury's famous clock tower balancing on a wing mirror eh eh eh ?
  20. Nice one Trev best to double check with a virus scan anyway you never know!
  21. Hi - well guess what happend to me tonight yup while takin my Bose unit out I managed to scratch my bleedin cubby door also!! Justa teeny one thank goodness anyway if you cross ref my post on that http://www.350z-uk.com/forum/viewtopic ... 192#218192 But long and short I have managed to hide it with nothing more than a black childrens wax crayon!! Rub the crayon into the scratch until the level of wax builds up a little - then spit on your finger (sorry of your eating supper now!!) and rub across the scratch gently it will eventually hide the damage - even the hard plastic in the door grab handles in drivers side. Give it a go - it wont hide massive gashes but its worth a shot worked for me - good luck!
  22. Hellooooo well I did it - I took my time and followed the guide as posted earlier -it is almost identical fittings on the 2007 also. I have taken pics all along for ref if anyone wants them in sequence with my comments please let me know happy to post up or just PM - a few gotchas not mentioned in the other guide - the bleedin vinyl material on the revised 06> interiors is super soft and will damage easily!! So as the mechanic chap said - take the gear knob off and cover the leaver thread with tape or something soft to protect the console when your removing it. The alloy gaiter ring is just resessed into the plastic base moulding as in the earlier model but they have made life a little easier now. When pulling the top dials connector off - its on the RHD for RHD cars and also its a real pig - again I can post pics later as you cant see it and dont knwo where the clip is to pinch in so it releases form the holder - put some soft lining under it to protect the dash while you are swearing at it!!! Lexx you are riught mate the radio has a teeny weeny recess into the dash not fully flush like the older type BUT - I am glad I did this in the end as the Ba****ds had not tightened the screws on the side brackets enough and also the brackets were bent which is why mine was recessed more than it should - it was'nt even on either side for a start!! Ham fisted ar**! So I striaghtened the brackets out and also realigned the radio once fitted into the console but out of the car if you know what I mean? Now its all evenly spaced and looks ok. Unfortunately no matter how careful I was I still managed to cause a tiny scracth on the sodding opening cubby hatch door!!! AAAAAAAAaaaaaaaghhhhhhh What a muppet I am!!! Anyway so now I was happy with the radio I was angry at myself for the scratch - well after a little bit of sideways thought I have discovered that a black crayon rubbed over the material (the spotted charcoal stuff in the revised interior) hides the pale white plastic underneath! It also works on the door grab handle where the window switches are in the drivers side - you know the bit that alwasy gets scratched - so its hidden that also - so there you go - everything happens for a reason. Rub the crayon into the scratch then dab your finger with a bit of your finest spit and rub out the crayon gently this leaves an almost perfect hidden scratch! Well it worked in mine so I ama lot happier now! Will mention this on the other post about a scratched lid!! Anyway so a result - one last thing again dealer muppets!! When you remove the gearknob there is a small flange washer below it - it has a chamfered edge in one side that fits DOWN onto the gearstick - that was upside down also come on how hard can it be!!! Sorry for rants, if you need a hand removing console and are a bit unsure then send me a Pm and if your near Manchester pop round and we can sort it ok?
  23. bleedin eck everyone is taking their Bose out this week! I just did mine!!! They are a swine to unplug from the dash those wires - I dont know what that third connection is either I'm afraid - A surf for Clarion stuff would prpbably find it?
  24. Stew's just power mad - the man with the finger on the black gold!
  25. Trust me mate I would have noticed - I AM THAT Anal!!! It was flush in the 08 Demo on the forecourt - I checked! Maybe they had your unit out also - and the guy forced it back too hard - like they did on mine (he admitted later!) Anyway its bugging me and I also want to see behind the unit for a potential Ipod connection maybe in the future and other stuff - little mounting plate to make up - I'm just nosey !
