Advice required from a sparkie? Re: Cooker?
stanski replied to stanski's topic in Off Topic Discussion
Well I got a reply from my cool new forum!! They recon its a capacity device discharge issue - which is linked to the gas part so its a Corgi engineer job! Probably cheaper to buy a new cooker - even though this one still is!! (Wondered why the warranty was only 2 years!) So it could be leaking capacitor after a certain time then causing a discharge to earth and tripping the light fantastic! -
Well they shipped them all back to Russia did;nt they!! Yikes!
-
Well not the worst looking thing in the world but..... you can have a forum competition to guess how many other cars you can spot in that one!! Surely its the new G37 in drag with a splash of 350, even an Merc SL in there somewhere round the back ? as mentioned - they must be drinking neat Gin with Bleach!

While trying to find out why our cooker is tripping the light fantastic with the circuit breaker I came across this site and its forum!! So fingers crossed they might be able to help? Beavis probably gives good advice on there also Sorry mate could'nt help it - Blame Colin! www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk

Damn blast damn and double blast!!!!!!!!!!! Its deffo the cooker after all - it sits there quietly on standby with just the clock on and then trips the circuit breaker! What would cause that do you think? The fridge was left unplugged as an experiment? I am searching t'internet for known problems with that cooker? Do circuit breakers get tired out maybe and need replacing after a few years - this one is 12 months old? -
Bought from trade dealer without road tax, is this legal?

Well technically as I understand it even if you have a task disc you must display it in the windscreen -the old grace period of its in the post 10 days I think it was does'nt wash anymore? Only thing is that it would still be under their name not yours so if you would have been caught they are still the legal owners as far as I know?? I suggest you get them to send it you recorded delivery sharpish!! Dont drive it - its the camera's I would be worried about! Also your insurance becomes invalid if you have no tax - double wammy eh! Just wait for the disc then enjoy it - probably an oversight or they are just dim! Otherwise enjoy your car matey! oh btw ! !!! the car not the tax disc! -

Thanks chaps - it was working fine on the same breaker before ? I checked the wiring to and from the cooker/wall connection and socket - all appear fine (just retightened everything in case) nothing trapped anywhere that I could see - the fan in the overn works fine and is not burnt out (cooker is 2years old only - I know that does'nt mean anything these days!) Anyway it worked fine last night????? OK so maybe its the socket thats also on the same outlet as the cooker switch? I plugged a kettle in there and put the cooker on and the kettle - no issues? The Fridge is normally connected to the same cooker wall socket - and thinking about it -it must have been the fridge that was causing the trip? This has also been moved during the refurb -I pulled it out from the wall, checked the wiring /fuse etc for the fridge - compressor seems ok - not trapped against anything and nothing at the back that looks damaged in anyway? I put it back in position - made sure it was level and carefully switched it on ? Guess what its working fine - no trip outs - cooker was swicthed on - no trip outs? Will keep an eye on it but so far so good! Thanks for the replies again chaps -
Mark sorry read the warranty thread before this! For anyone who has a small slow leak try the gasket and sealant section on www.frost.co.uk have a look at the products like oiltite or similar. Hope you get it sorted mate if you phone westway oldham and they have the parts i could get them for you and take to wales if needed?

I really do love that electric type blue colour but I dont think the car looks better than my swirly wonder so will hold onto it - its worth sod all anyway - but as Chris says wait 18months and see what the prices are - but then again have to see one in the flesh - dont trust pictures ! (Still hate the fangs though!)

Recently fitted new kitchen and we have a slide in - Dual fuel cooker - electric oven and grill - gas hob. ITs a Stoves cooker After a while the cooker trips the circuit? As part of the kitchen refurb I fitted a new cooker switch on the wall - straight wire swap over nothing clever there and the cooker had to be moved forward a bit to tile behind there? So other than being moved its not gone very far? I am going to check the cable from the wall to the cooker connection in the back of the cooker, but...... I cant see there being much tech in a cooker -just a digi timer clock and spark unit?? Only other thing is the timing clock has stopped working - but the normal clock display (digi display thing) is ok? Do you recon it could have blewn an internal fuse?? Any ideas?

Yikes!! At least the local residents were quiet and did'nt complain about the damage done to their gardens!!

Do you have to travel far? I actually have thought about a scooter - I just keep thinking I'm going to be laughed at Thought about going for bike licence too, but I'm scared, i'm a wimp That and the dreaded 'hat hair' 700 miles per week! Stew's the bike expert!! You will have to go for a crewcut haircut then and not worry about it!

http://www.houseprices.co.uk/map.php?pc=WR10+3BH&show=s just looking at something and came across this - a place called Pooh Corner - sounds like a swanky place to live - imagine that as your address!!! Does it back on to Ar*e End Terrace!

Well this is true and a very good point. I suppose I should say that I'd just be glad to be able to drive anything to work rather than the crappy bus service I know what you mean - mines not a normal case though I'm lucky to have a car like this for a daily commute (boring as it is) a few of us on the forum (squarehead) also have these long and arduous journeys but give me that instead of public transport anyday of the week! Get yourself a vespa scooter then - they are cheap enough and look pretty groovy - you dont need to wear the industry standard parker with RAF logo on the back though!

to the forum Dave Nice motor there - very TT stylie!

Just realised you have been drifting solid for 3 hours on that tarmac and cleared all that snow! Wow!

Thanks. It's crap! I don't like to walk in the winter though seeing as it's dark and bad weather more often than not. I'd love to use the Z to commute, I'm jealous of those who do Dont be Cara - its 700 miles a week for me and its a short service interval as you know ..thats why I am using the van a lot more these days - next service is due and thats another £300 which I dont have at the mo....
