  1. I had exactly the same problem last week. Bought a Japspeed K1 from Dan for a very reasonable price (cheaper than any you have mentioned in your post). He also does the K2 which looks and sounds more OEM if K1 is too noisy (check the k1 vs k2 thread in exhausts section). I fitted it myself, took 2 hours to remove the old and replace the new and i'm not particularly technical!! Its just a case of removing some nuts and supports and remembering how it goes back together again.
  2. K1 fitted (and pop charger). OMG! Went for a buzz with the baffles out, gave it some beans and it set off the car alarm on a parked TT! Baffles in from now on i think... Thanks Dan (Japspeed) for giving a great deal and super-fast delivery.
  3. I'm in if it looks good. But don't want to commit until i've seen it.
  4. I feel I may fall into this trap of owning both. One for each day of the weekend! Lol I have to admit the S2000 doesnt come out very often, not because i'm saving the mileage, because I can never resist picking the Z keys off the key rack S2000 is good fun on the 5 or 6 sunny days we have in the summer and if you like thrashing it you can have some great fun (and lots of near misses in my experience (No TC!)). But the 350 is so much easier to live with, quieter and more comfortable on longer trips. I guess you have to decide if you want a go kart to thrash a few miles with the top down, or a GT that is infinetely more comfortable on the motorway and can still scare the cr@p out of you on the twisty bits if you so wish!
  5. I have one of each at the moment but i'd go for the 350Z if i had to choose one, you get SO much more of a car.
  6. Kris, thanks for the offer but I ordered a K1 from Dan (Japspeed) in the end as he did me a deal i couldnt refuse!
  7. So have I, Japspeed have done well out of the forum recently!! Can't wait to get it on the car. (And MOT'd of course!)
  8. Or anything similar?! Car just failed MOT due to split backbox Thought it sounded good this last few months. Anyway, need a replacement and fast, am seeing if japspeed will extend the group buy, but am not sure if they will. Any other traders carry this exhaust or similar priced equivalent? Cheers
  9. Wish i'd read this earlier. Mine just this second failed due to a blowing exhaust. ar$e.
  10. Thanks for the tips, this forum never ceases to amaze me with the wealth of knowledge available and how generous and forthcoming people are with it! The van is a Bay Window type and you're not wrong; there is a bucket load of rust. We're rebuilding most of the engine bay to start with, sills are in a pretty poor state as are the wheel arches. We're planning on using the proper compressor equipment, not rattle cans. We're also redoing all of the interior. My mates girlfriend is re-upholstering the lot and we're rebuilding the cabinets and furniture, it's an interesting project! Haven't got any good pics yet, but will take some as we progress with the project. Here's a couple from today:
  11. Hi all, a bit of topic but i figured someone might be able to offer some advice. I'm helping my mate out with doing up his VW camper. The bodywork isnt in great shape and there's a fair amount of filler on all the panels. We've got the windows, seals, bumpers, doors, lights and engine out and are repairing some of the dodgy bodywork and rusted panels. We will be looking to respray the whole van when the temperature increases a bit and didnt know if anyone had any tips. Neither of us have sprayed a car before and one of his mates has advised spraying over the top of the existing paint. We've sanded the original paint back to give a scuffed surface to apply the new paint, but i'm not totally convinced if thats the best way to do it. Any advice would be appreciated.
  12. Husky, have you not got the Nismo Snow Plow? She works a treat, i can highly recommend it. Group buy perhaps? Might help some of those in the Bristol area to get to meets (you know who you are!).
  13. I'm interested too, would want to see how Huskey's turns out before committing to the group buy though.
  14. Truly awesome car, great write up. Thanks for leaving the cost info on their, it's really useful to see roughly how much bits cost when planning the next mod! PS. that vented bonnet looks familiar....

    video editing

I'd use Sony Vegas Pro, but its not cheap! You might be able to get the effect you want using Windows Movie Maker (comes free with windows and can usually be found under accessories in the start menu, if you've not got it i think you can download for free from the windows website). If you load you clip into the timeline, select the clip, then click effects. Scroll down and select "Speed Up". You can do this a number of times to increase the speed. Good luck.
  16. Nice one amy. Loving the FTO, i used to have one which i modded a little, but nothing like yours, love it.
  17. Lol, what can isay, i love my Jap Motors! Also had a CTR and FTO. 350z is my favourite all rounder though, just wish you could get that magical gear box from the s2000 into the Z!
  18. I got some lightly smoked ones from Fleabay and am very happy with them. Just had to change the connector from US to UK type.

    I Want

Time for me to start doing the lottery...
  20. Gun metal wheel refurbishment (and sprayed CF bonnet):
  21. Thanks man, will bear you in mind when mine finally pops. Its a mod i've wanted to do since I bought the car, I'm really not a fan of the dual mass fly. Guess im just waiting for a good enough excuse to load up the credit card again!!
  22. I'm also having this problem. It smells like clutch to me, but i'm not experiencing any slippage(!). Its definetely not tyres and, like you, my exhaust is blowing ever so slightly. I'm not too sure what to do about it, in an ideal world i'd have the lot out, new zorst, fly-wheel and clutch, but i just cant afford that kind of thing at the moment! Are there any other signs to look out for if you think your clutch is on the way out?
