  1. Cheers! Thanks for the comment! Updates will be coming don't worry!
  2. Sooooo the seat work has started! Seat was whipped out this morning. This is the issue.. the seat is off set from the steering wheel by over an inch due to the way the seat base is made. the stupid uneven zed floor means that each corner of the base is at different hights. While the base and side mounts were out I weight them 5.2KG in total! Its heavy! So I set about cutting a notch in the seat base... Side mount was drilled and moved over.. All refitted and in a FAR better position. There was over an inch gap from the front of the seat to the trans tunnel plastic to start with! Next step is now i know it fits is to have the seat base reinforced with a few filets of steel so its just as or stronger than before. Mr post man dropped this off too This will replace the rusty W brace thats currently on the car!
  3. I do have folders with receipts in but not all of them. I kind of don't want to know what its cost me! Just feels like little bits hear and there but i know it adds up fast hahaha
  4. Little moe work yesterday! Made a start on working out how my brake cooling ducts will fit. I have very little space that will get direct airflow on the front of the car that will allow a hose to be routed through to the arches. I have two options that will work.. This first is using NACA ducts and pulling air from under the car, the 2nd and possibly best option is using a slim slit above the front splitter to direct air to the wheel wells. The Varis CF lip i have lends its self well to this as the middle section on the centre is rated to when i build my new splitter this will have to have some alu or plastic fab'ed like the pic bellow. Heres some pics while figuring out duct routing. I also spent a few mins and pillar drilled the exhaust mount bracket. I did't have chance to weight this item before and after but my guess would be a 0.4-0.5kg loss. Before After. I have also removed the plastics that cover the end of the W brace... These won't be going back on once my new W brace is fitted so a little more weight loss here! This is one side so X 2 Im also looking to reduce my seat hight further.. I have already drilled the side mounts lower but still have a small gap I'm looking to use under the seat. Weight loss for this = 0.80KG TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS SO FAR = 57.23KG DRY CAR WEIGHT = 1422.64KG
  5. Im not sure tbf. I have heard cl pads can spark but i just wash the car off after eaxh day on the track and hope for the best.

  7. One that has them in stock in the uk ready for quick delivery 😉ðŸ˜
  8. Does anyone have or know of any UK traders that have any of the following items: -Torque solutions gearbox mount or poly gearbox mount. -SPL Subframe or other solid roll correcting bushes. -SPL diff or other poly diff option. -SPL mono ball rear knuckle bushes or Superpro poly option. Thanks
  9. After trashing my rear brakes at anglesey I have finally got round to fitting the new replacement gear New CL RC5+ pads for the rear Rear disc and caliper removed ready for new stuff and a clean! New rear disc vs. Old Cleaned up and fitted with new pads. Pads that have come off the rears.... What a mess lol... Got round to fitting my door pulls. This will make it easier for when i forget to pull the door to me and fasten my harnesses up tight! I have been out and spent some time bedding in the new rear pads too.... WOW bite is great. There a little grumbly at the moment but I'm sure this will reduce once there fully seated. I have also tweaked the rear low speed damping to 1 click off full hard to help reduce body roll and stop the rear tires touching the arches.
  10. I have finally made a start on the rear end build I have been planing for ages! Bennet has sorted me out with a used rear subframe and rear knuckles along with some spring buckets I bought off bizz Quick shots before I pressure washed it Pressure washing it did the best part of **** all lol.. Just wet it really! So i took this lot off to work and made use of some industrial gear to sort this lot out! After the subframe had been in the automatic bead blaster ;p Finish is great! Ready to be powder coated too! The job of pushing all the bushes out went very quickly and easily on the rear spring buckets and knuckles taking about 25 mins with a press to do them all! The subframe bushes on the other hand!!! a 3Ton press would not move them and the next size press up was 50Ton and was too big to get the subframe into I managed to put some threaded bar though each bush and wind nuts down on to sockets until I tor each bush out. Then cut with a hacksaw until i removed a strip and chisel them out. Each bush took about 45mins with a 4lb hammer! PITA All out though now and ready for solid SPL bushes to be fitted!! Dropped off to be power coated in metallic gunmetal

  12. Nice to meet you at the matsuri mate! You very going well! (I was the media guy you were chatting to on saturday)
  13. Great day in the zed again on Saturday! Took the zed to anglesey for a circuit days open pitman day Few nice motors I was sharing the track with Zed performed very well with the new brake pads and fluid in! Only issue I had was a rather large and lucky "off" in my 2nd session where I managed to understeer off the track in turn 2 at about 100mph onto soft grass and slide for about 150m! Managed to avoid hitting the tire wall but the underside and outside of the zed was covered in mud lol.. CL brakes were kicking out some extra heat! The bloody callipers have changed colour! Before and after CL pads! Front tires took a hammering The car I was still trying to get the understeer under control so I have made a few minor changes.. 2 clicks softer on front rebound.. tire pressure down to 30psi HOT all round and full hard on rear rebound damping. I can get to compression damping easily so next time I'm on the ramps Ill add a few clips of low speed compression damping front and rear. Went out for some hot laps in these beast.
  14. Mj.. I am looking to go for a single 3.5-4inch exhaust at some point yes!
  15. ME ME ME ME.... PS.. do these help cornering??
  16. Continued with the zed work today Knock at the door at 8am dropped off my nice new carbon loraine RC5+ pads (mega reviews on these so Ive had to try them) Decided that using a 2 post lift was over kill for brake pads so i went the old fashion way and jacked it up on the drive. DIY speed ramps to get the jack under too Whipped the on wheels off and pulled the pads...... These are the new vs. the old pads that came out the left caliper!!! Totally ****ed... lol.. All 4 "pads" that came out hahaha Just the bloody backing plates left!! Managed to free off the front bleep nipples so Ive flushed 0.5L of fresh AET fluid into the callipers and refitted all the new cleaned fasteners and pads Back onto the wire harness! All taped up in electrical tape what i needed. looks a lot neater now. More un-used wiring coming out from the head liner and A pillars Not a lot of weight but 0.25KG is still some thing! After this lot I have refitted the driver seat and took the car out to bed the new brakes in Weight loss for this = 0.25KG TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS SO FAR = 56.43KG DRY CAR WEIGHT = 1423.44KG
  17. Little more work this afternoon I could not help myself lol.. Made a start on the job I've been putting off for a while.. Cutting back the un-used parts of the wire loom. Bits I have removed so far are.. Wires to bose system, air bag wires for driver seat and some other small bits like cubby light and cig lighter etc. Still need to remove passenger side airbag sites and chase them back to the bulk head as I've just cut them off at the sill for now. Bag full of wire removed and wire sleeving On the scale I have also removed the headliner and sun visors again as I have found myself ducking with a helmet on with out knowing I'm doing it as my head touches the roof a small amount. This saves weight and gives me an extra inch of head room Normal headliner will weigh a small amount more as this one is cut down for age etc Weight loss for this = 3.75KG TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS SO FAR = 56.18KG DRY CAR WEIGHT = 1423.69KG
  18. Yeah thats me "trying" to make sure I'm gentle with steering inputs hahahaha
  19. Yeah on board to come and decent pics lol
  20. FANTASTIC DAY YESTERDAY! Had some epic fun out in the zed playing with the big boys at donnington park on the full GP circuit. The day was run by RMA and had some un-usual trackway rules such as overtake on both sides with no consent and no sighting laps etc .. Most cars there were exotics and race cars. The zed did very well apart from brake issues that i was expecting from running a less than ideal pad compound and old mogul brake fluid Car has been set up great from corner weighting and feels very well balanced and inspired confidence! Power wise I was keeping up with most things out there down the straights but I was being left of dead in the braking zones The issues I need to address are the rear passenger arch is catching the tire a small amount under full loading and the front brake pads have crumbled Ended up driving home over 80 miles with out using the brakes lol.. I think the pad has come away from the backing plate on the passenger side as it sounds legal on metal! Few pics I took on my phone.. I have a few on track pics coming soon though Packed up the night before heading down to donny where we stayed over the night before. Fuelling up! Mates cars parked up. Just one missing chris in the new R8 V10 Plus which was epic! Zed chillin' Sharing the track with these guys I suffered with some rather bad understeer (possibly driver error lol) but i did have some success playing with tire pressures on the day. I ended up at 31psi HOT and found this did help a little but my main plan is to switch to a 265/275 front tire, 10mm front spacers to widen front track and build a new larger splitter with side fences. I had a tire pyrometer with me and took a few data sets, first one was after a small session but was taken 5 mins after i came off track and 2nd set was done in the pit lane by a mate so a better set IMHO. Data is for seeing if i can add more front and rear camber. 1st set 2nd set Brake looking rather cooked!
  21. Do you think you can get a well price ti strut brace made up?? Im after as stiff and light as possible.
