  1. spot on trev, a friend of mine was advised he needed a new ecu on his clio, £1200 later they told him it didnt work and he needed a new loom its too easy to point the finger at the biggest component

  7. i can see what you're saying about the speakers - you can only get out what you put in etc but honestly they are total budget crap, they look like £2 speakers from maplins, even kickers make a big improvement, focals ould be better but wasted as you would then want a beeter amp then h/u and as you say 2k is easily spent really depends on your budget and needs

  11. its like in the states, the frequencies work in different increments
  12. that code usually means the ecm is goosed but these things do throw false codes due to the info they are fed and translate to the nearest code
  13. first thing i would try is an ecu reset (can be found in the guides section) fuel pump failure would give the same symptoms fuel filter blocked would give the same symptoms immobiliser that cuts the fuel would give the same symptoms could be the crank position sensor dead i wouldnt go and buy an ecu yet
  14. the bose is actually clarion, the first best upgrade if you plan to keep it is to change the crap speakers
  15. Replacement updated discs cost £280 from nissan but as the guy told me, they take approx 2 yrs to develop so they are out of date when you buy them much better off with a gps based system, real time monitoring

  17. This is very odd, never had that, the norm is that the pads rust/stick to the discs and you hear a clunk, this is coupled with the handbrake sticking on, as you first move but never a loss of braking
  18. the heated seats only work with the ignition on
  19. the later models (06) had the buttons near the screen, the player is in the cupboard behind the passenger seat, you need to tilt the seat to open it to look inside
