Hi there, The backlights on the back of my 350 stopped working about a month ago!! I tried replacing the bulbs but still they didn't come on. I also checked the fuses but they were all ok. So I decided to take it to Nissan for a diagnosis! What they came back with didn't impress me. They said that water had leaked into the IPDM Unit (I think thats what its called) which sits behind the battery. The water had turned everything green and blown the fuses!! They then said to replace the unit plus labour it was going to cost me just over £1000!!!! I couldn't believe it. I instantly said the surely all fuses and electrical parts must be sealed and covered so how did this happen??? They said it was actually a common problem and until it was fixed the back lights wouldn't work. I needed the car that weekend so I told them to do the work but I'm still not happy about it!! I can't believe that rain managed to get into my fuses!! and that its a common problem!!! I'd really appreciate it if someone could shed some light on this? Has it happened to you? Is it a common problem? Do you think I was conned? and finally Do you think If I spoke to Nissan UK and explained to them what happened I might get at least some money back?? Hi there, I have a 53 350Z and recently everything has gone wrong with my car. I just don't understand it?? It's always been in the garage and well looked after. A number of things have broken on my car which include the IPDM unit (I think thats what its called) Its the fuse box that sits behind the battery. Basically my back lights stopped working. So I took my 350 into Nissan and they diagnosed the problem and traced the it to the IPDM unit. Water had been getting into it blowing some of the fuses and turning the wiring green!! So i had it replaced which cost me £1100!! At the same time as this My BOSE stereo has recently given up on me!! The CD changer has broken and eject is permantely up on the screen accompanied by a very annoying clicking sound! My dealer said that I need a new one which would cost me nearly £1200!! So... ..I was wondering if you can install a single din HU into the 350? and If you can where is the best place to source the parts needed to achieve this? My dealer said that they've never had to do it and wouldn't know where to start!! Also at the same time.... ...My drivers window started to stick. I asked my dealer to check what was wrong and he called me today to say that the regulator and the motor had broken and I was looking at a £650 bill including parts and labour!! Does anyone know where I could get these parts cheaper? As I really don't want to have to spend £650 just before Christmas!! Thanks for your time Dan
