The copy exhaust you have fitted is supposed to emulate the original exhaust sound but it wont be an exact match, hence why you say it sounds quieter… Did they also replace the Mid Pipe too.

For comparison, below is a photo of a factory OEM Nissan exhaust, so its not too far from the photo you posted showing what you think you had before, so the chances are, your old system was an OEM one, more so as it gave up in the usual culprit place that all OEM systems suffer…
