yep I did - very odd I don't do the whole wardriving thing though - I have unlimited internet through my phone and use that - so I can't help you with what was going on there!

garage already warned me they may not finish today as they are short staffed - so looks unlikely I would have the car at the weekend

must say my screen gets dusty too, even though its got the cubby door to cover it! yep was thinking about getting a powermate - maybe after I sort the steering wheel controls out.. wrt controllers, I am thinking it should be possible to get the steering wheel controls to be pretty useful: obviously volume up/down and track prev/next can have their original function but the middle 2 buttons (the phone things) I am thinking to map as modifier keys, so for example pressing phone1 and then prev track could move me back a screen in my frontend etc.. anyway I have some bits on order that should let me sort that all out, then I will see if I still need a powermate

looks good - screen looks better than I thought it would from what you said about how it was mounted! is that a powermate controller?

hmm where are you proposing to have our mini meet? somewhere near the M25 might be better for me really, as I don't fancy trekking through south london to greenwich - but from where I am I can easilly get to the M25.. also my car is in the garage tomorrow for work, can't be certain they will get it finished and they aren't open on Saturday.. hopefully they will finish it tomorrow though..

well its easy to take the PC sound out through a headunit with RDS (or you could use a HQCT (http://www.xtronic.be/?id=91〈=2) if you want to control the radio via the pc touchscreen (eg with Centrafuse front end)

sounds cool looking forward to seeing some pics - sorry all mine have been a bit shite was washing mine at the weekend when some guy pulled up to have a chat as he has an import Z on order.. he mentioned about getting his jap satnav changed cos he saw my screen and assumed it was the factory nav - tried to convince him of the benefits of a proper car PC so the ranks of the PC-Z may be expanding!

yeah you dont want to get stuck with an 04 cubby - if they can only supply an 04 then tell them not to bother is my advice. importing an 03 cubby was very easy - ordered from USA and was delivered by parcelforce a week later once i paid the custom duty online. search for my posts and you should see some info about it.

having the texts come through phoco/centrafuse is pretty cool - the computer can read them out to you even. and its nice to have your phonebook/calls and everything come up on the touchscreen..

grats and enjoy tell em not to bother getting the cubby but give you cash for it - then buy the 2003 cubby which you can get the lilliput in easilly (bitch to do with the 2004+ cubby).. unless they can source you a 2003 cubby of course (went to 2 UK dealers who couldnt - and the 2004 cubby was priced at over 100 quid, I imported a 2003 cubby for 75 quid total..)

Got round to fitting my 03 cubby to my 04 Z today - very easy - had to trim some plastic from the lcd I am using to get it centered in the cubby properly. FYI the 03 plastic is a slightly lighter colour than 04-06 - you can see this in the second screenshot with the lid closed (although I think the camera has over-emphasised the difference)
