  1. Pretty sure my clutch is on the way out. When i set off in first gear I get terrible juddering. This was horrendous today when doing a slight hill start. Seems to be a bit intermittent. Is this a symptom? No other signs as yet. This is typical - just sold my Clio shed and will have to use the cash to sort it!
  2. just watch how you shake it, some of the guys may get distracted I think we can safely say i'll be doing that at home!
  3. God I've unleashed a load of beasts here!! Ive just ordered what Neil recommended and a girly sized shaker! Will let you know how I get on!
  4. I would be having it BEFORE I went to the gym due to not being able to eat a proper meal until after 8pm.
  5. I've had a banana one before mixed with water which was nice but it was at a friend's house and i don't know what it was. I will have a look at the ones you've suggested.
  6. I do try to eat porridge oats mixed into a yoghurt for breakfast (when the boss is out) but can't stand to eat before 9am so it has to be what I can eat at my desk - sometimes a banana. I have salad for lunch with chicken and boiled egg or something like a tin of tuna mixed with a tin of sweetcorn. I sometimes get vegetable sushi. Now and then if i'm tired I will buy a sandwich but I was shocked at the last one I had - BLT had 450 calories in it!! Sometimes on a friday night I will sit and eat an entire box of chocolate fingers however! Would a protein shake be the answer to my breakfast problems now I can't eat at my desk? Can you point me in the direction of what to buy and where from without breaking the bank? Just seen the other posts while typing this..........i really must have been missing a long time for someone to say am I a man!!
  7. Right, Neil you're starting to talk in 'planet zog' language now..... My normal food routine is very healthy. At the moment I eat around 1200 - 1500 calories a day. Not much in the way of carbs at all. No potatoes, bread or pasta hardly ever. I eat mainly fish and vegetables and salad, chicken occasionally and red meat hardly ever. My gym routine is treadmill, cross trainer, bike, rower, then some of the weights machines. Nothing mega serious, just enough to keep fit. I've put a few pounds on recently which I want to shift. I definitely wouldn't want a protein shake instead of a meal but if it wasn't too many calories I could do one before I went to the gym if it stopped me passing out with hunger by the time I got there? Maybe some fruit would do? Isn't it bad eating so late at night?
  8. Won't a protein shake be extra calories I wouldn't normally have Jay? I thought they were mega calorific? As for substantial lunch? When you work somewhere where you have to poke your sandwich down your throat without swallowing because you're so busy............probably not gonna happen!
  9. I used to go to a gym regulary on my way home from work but I worked flexi time then so was always still home at a reasonable time and would then eat. Since I've changed jobs I've changed gyms. I work longer hours and sometimes don't leave work until 6pm. I live very close to work now and need to pass home to get to the gym. By the time I've finished work I'm starving. What's the best thing to do? Go home and eat, then go to the gym OR go to the gym and get home at about 8.30 before eating my evening meal?
  10. I know you said you're not bothered about TV but I have just swapped from BT to Sky simply because of the price difference. For a couple of quid less than I was paying BT for phoneline and broadband I've got phone, broadband and sky TV with an HD box that means I can get all the free HD channels as well as the basic sky entertainment pack. Included all equipment and fitting. For an extra six quid broadband is unlimited. If you book through quidco you get £100 cash back.
  11. Have to agree with twobears - is your heart really still in it? They aren't cheap to run but to be honest I would have sold a kidney to keep mine! When I saw my first ever zed in the flesh in a car park, watched the person get in, heard it start up I knew I would have one! Like Vik i did a lots of research and joined this forum six months before buying. As a petrol head I have always moved on to the next car pretty quicky as I get bored quickly but not this time. There is just nothing I can move onto that isn't silly money and I've had my zed over 5 years now. I haven't owned a car longer than two years before now.
  12. Driving back from Brandesburton on Saturday at lunchtime, passed a yellow 350 at Routh. A nice wavey person for a change!
  13. I was out with my sister in her (dare i say it) Prius! YUK! Parked behind Marks and Sparks at Monks Cross shopping centre in York. When we came back there was a rather nice 370 parked next door but one space. Brilliant Reg *444 GUY. I was too wimpy as usual to card it so my sister marched over and stuck one under the wiper. There was a couple just getting out of the car next to it watching her putting the card on. We were ages leaving but they just hovvered around near their car and waited for us to go. When they thought we were out of sight they went over to read the card - nosey buggers!
  14. Big thanks to Ian - I got my car back on Friday. Who would have thought a little thing like a fog light could cause such a big problem! I did notice when I was cleaning the car at the weekend that it's not quite in flush which will annoy the hell out of me until it's sorted properly but I just have too much on right now to stress over it! THANKS AGAIN IAN!!!!
  15. Once again the forum feel good factor!
  16. You still have an easter egg??? Seriously though - i can't thank you enough! You have pm's! I will never laugh at you doing your hair in the car window reflection again!
  17. That makes me feel so much better! What did you put in their place?
  18. Alex do you have an alternative email for A1 japspares? Getting failure notice on the one which is on their website and cannot get the part request page to work either! If not will try phoning Monday.
  19. Will do - cheers Alex. glrnet thinks he has his old ones knocking about in his shed but is in France so that's another option. I will try them now and let you know how I get on!
  20. Why go abroad? Er, because it's pissing it down here!
  21. Hi guys and girls Car has failed MOT due to the fog light not working. Simple fix you would think BUT because the car is an import it originally had two reverse lights and no fog. One of the reverse lights was swapped for a fog light at SVA (somehow). The mechanic took the bumper off to discover the light had melted.... and he doesn't really know what to stick in there as its not a nissan part - it's a 'been made to fit' job which has lasted five years! Seems the best thing to do would be to swap the indicator/fog cluster for a uk one. I've tried Lee and waiting for him to get back to me, no reply from Alex which must mean he hasn't got one, and CS hasn't got one. Also waiting for mechanic to send me a pic (but he hasn't got back to me!) as the original importer may be able to help but needs to see it. Start a new job on Monday and can really do without the stress.............any ideas? (not including one of those horrible stuck on your bumper items)
  22. impressed with Shearer's shaved head! Nice to see a man going bald gracefully! As for the football, i've always had a soft spot for Holland so i would LIKE them to win (as we clearly won't).
  23. This is just too much - i'm surrounded by 'men' (and i use the term lightly...) who are writing Mills and Boon never mind Fiesta!
