  1. oh was it? whats the point in that? surey then its down to the balls (or interest of the other driver?) "I outran this fella........" doesnt prove anything to me as he might not be interested in such childish games on the public highway, might not have the ability or might not have seen the boy racer trying to race you.
  2. Let me save you the hastle. Nurburgring, Driver Horst Van Saurma (Sport Auto Mag) zed. 8.26 boxster s 8.23
  3. I use a 20d and a 30d and a handful for L series lenses (got the bug) looking to buy a 1d MKIIn shortly.
  4. . I agree, you dont need to shoot at lower f stops at night, but if you need a fast shutter speed and have the ISO cranked all the way up then theres not anywhere else to go that I know of, which takes you to the poorer end of quality with the kit lense. Could be wrong of course, I am most definately an ammateur, picked up most of my knowledge from interweb forums and ebooks Actually if you are doing stationary shots you use a very slow shutter speed (to absorb more light) and a very low ISO (as nothing is moving) For reference I am talking night shots of statcis setups such as the shot in his signature. Also a tripod is paramount for night work.
  5. Sad but simple fact here guys. On the same track driven by the same driver a boxster s was 3 seconds faster. Lighter better balanced and even nissan used one as a comparable for the original Z . The 2009 zed is currently being tested against a Cayman S. Says alot really.
  6. Night shots dont necessarily need a lower f stop. In fact to take a shot similar to the one in your sig can easily be done at f16. My personal preference is canon but for motorsport photography the lower the f stop the better. I use exclusively f/2.8 zooms. A zoom with an typical f stop of 5.6 just wont cut it in low light england.

    Sad news.....

Obviously it goes without saying that items that are awaiting delivery from Phil and all the team at ESR will be subject to a slight delay. Im sure Phil would appreciate if people could bear with him at this difficult personal period. Thanks on behalf of Phil
  8. That looked like bent legs in the first pic to me. now way i can see that being fixed for 5k
  9. Thats not going to come out mate. Time for a new one. These are forged rims not cast so you wont be able to reshape without seriously affecting it. Sorry. Pristine are very very good. But i think there exchange option will be for most standard cars (i.e. not the zed) and will be a steel rim.
  10. If you are doing any track work MPS are the daddies. Cant complain about Toyos either tho. I just think the Michelins eek out the last bit of grip.
  11. I would have objected to the service book entry and demand it removed!
  12. Amsoil I shall take your expertise on this. I allways thought a filter was a filter.
  13. Now this I know is rubbish as the manual does not state a manufacturer or preference. The only requirement in the manual is the ACEA spec and the weight. And in accordance with EU legislation as long as you meet those requirements the dealer can gt knotted. Sounds to me like a dealer was trying to ensure he has the chance to fleece you get1
  14. Two questions. What makes you so sure your filter will filtrate better than nissans? (Im sure nissan buy in with a rebranding anyway) At the end of the day all a filter is, is a charcoal element. And charcoal is charcoal. Why not just pay the 6 quid for the nissan one and save all the fuss?
  15. If its not your rubber may I advise you check your pressures then?
  16. I had a roadster for a week. Did 1000 miles in it. Was soo glad to get my coupe back . skuttleshake city. Also the seating position is shorter to accomodate the hood. (Im 6' 5 ) DIved into potholes and genrally wanst as pleasing as the coupe. Although sounded better and less road noise! But no thanks.
  17. Im sorry I have a cold and it must be the fact that Im not well because there is no way I would normally say this but here goes: I quite like the nose and the gills. BTW i reserve the right once better to come along and delete this post entirely.

Cheers mate, I apologise for the accusation of scaremongering. I originally read it and thought to myself, not another one! But lomoto showed me the error of my ways.

    Tyres

Well Im sorry I didnt think it was clear. I knew about the E marks and my impression was that Andy was saying any imported tyre wasnt valid. I am in the market for a complete set at the moment and was honestly disappointed by his statement. Andy Im sorry. I was too quick to judge. Perhaps you might clarify your statement to your potential customers. Lomoto - hope that helps
