So therefore should he not clarify that an E marking is required (As I have done) rather than just making wild statements Your arguement is right, I just found it offensive to say that just because a tyre doesnt come from Toyo uk its not valid for UK insurance. I bought my last set of tyres in Germany from a Toyo dealer, am I not insured? I think not.
  3. Hi all Id just like to thank the person who accessed my personal profile to rename my website address. Really appreciated. Very big of you. I have now removed it. Thanks again Seriously offended, Even more disappointed. Dash

Andy I am sorry but this is absolute rubbish. All tyres must conform to European Regulations in order to be road legal in the UK. "All car tyres sold from 1st July 1997 must carry an 'E' marking. The 'E' or 'e' mark consists of an 'E' or 'e' followed by a number included in a circle of 12mm diameter or a rectangle. This symbol is followed by a further number The 'E' certifies that the tyre complies with the dimensional, performance and marking requirements of ECE Regulation 30. The 'e' certifies that the tyre complies with the dimensional, performance and marking requirements of DIRECTIVE 92/23/EEC. The number associated with the letter 'E' in the circle or 'e' in the rectangle is the code number of the government which granted the type approval (No. 11 for the British Government and a different identifying number for each of the other European countries involved). The number outside the circle or rectangle is the number of the type approval certificate issued for that particular tyre size/type." As nearly every manufacturer makes their tyres compliant with two primary directives (the ECE Regulation 30 Directive, and the DOT Directive for the US) These levels of compliancy are valid for UK insurance. I find you claims of UK Type approved tyres as highly inflamatory as I know that tyres are designed with a global market in mind. Borderline scaremongering my friend. Not impressed. You just lost my business.

From a performance point of view Falkens are best avoided. A god budget tyre, nothing more. Personally I cant see the point in trying to skimp on a sports car. Toyos are very good but Pilot sports (in their current version 2 itteration) are the Daddies. Its justifing the extra 200 quid thats the hard bit. But if you are tracking it, short of going to Toyo R888 (cut slicks) the MPS are the ones to have. Theyll improve road noise levels too. I have it on good authority that Nissan are currently trialling the MPS' on 06 zeds for oem installation.
  6. I was only kiddin mate, I meant no offense. Apologies. Opinions held on the OC doesnt necessarily coincide with mine though
  7. I see what you mean although it looks like they were blanks and then slotted? All the slotted Discs I have had were never cut at the edge. Is this a build defect? But as you rightly point out is is clearly cracked. Not impressed by the overal slotting if they have cut the edges! Never seen that before and I would almost go as far as to ay that the uneven heat dissapation due to one edge of the slot bing open ended and the oposite edge being encased probably caused it to crack! (as one edge would be allowed to expand at a quicker rate than the other) Hang about you havent been playing in photoshop have you ( ) its just there seems to be a wite pixel in the image ?
  8. I hope they replaced it as that cracked slot looks like an error in cutting (that is without seeing the whole pattern of the disc) Not exactly a motorsport proven company though.(jusdging by their website I see they mostly support road cars) Admitedly most of the stuff I have used is Pagid,Brembo, Willwood, AP Racing, Performance Friction et al.
  9. I think Ds2500's are semi metalic? Or is that the 3000's?

  11. Having done a little more research on this I have not found anywhere that states that cracking is possible on a slotted disc? Also slotted discs do not disturb the airflow of the ventilated disc (whereas drilled does) and slotted prevents vitrification of the disc surfaces.
  12. that's another common falicy as you call it. I know of slotted which cracked as easily as drilled. In extreme conditions (track days etc) all types of disks CAN crack... Nice 2 piece disks in the pic. Ugly wheels though I meant Fallacy (forgive my spelling) In all the years of taking cars on circuits Ive never known a slotted to crack although that is not to say its impossible, however due to the complete hole that is drilled in a disc it can have greater effect on the disc than the possible crack that might occur in a partly slotted disk. Those Discs are Performance Friction Discs. Used by alot of the big players in GT racing.
  13. wasnt me your honor, too late in the year for me, besides I have plans for the winter.
  14. Thats called pad pickup. It doesnt require a disc chane it will drive itself off. When you change the pads just clean the shoes, and it will go away. Not needing a disc.
  15. You do NOT neede discs eveytime you change pads. Thats a common falicy. Get yourself a set Of DS2500's (95 quid for a pair) If you want to upgrade discs dont get drilled as they crack easlily. Get slotted. And if you are up grading Performance Friction are the kiddies!!!!
  16. you do too 350 miles from a tank! Your having a giggle.
  17. I too reckon with a GT3 in my Garage a GTR for daily driver, the bonnet will look ok

  22. I honestly doubt it was "england team" as Bugatti have allways been "selective" of their owners, sometimes requiring interviews with prospective owners. They dont like the "footballer image" to be associated with their cars. So I have read at least. It will have been a car ma if you ask me. I know some of the contributers to EVO live in Manchester (Paul Baily being one) He has an enzo.
  23. I disagree, I think it is not the method of FI that effects the engine but the strain of running the FI
