  1. Turn the dip stick over and you'll see the marking just below these two little kinks. The kinks themselves aren't the max/min level.
  2. Just thought I'd throw my two cents in here. I've now done just over 3000 miles in my car from new. Driving has been varied to say the least from a track day to 5 hours stop start on the motorway. I had to fill the oil at about 1700 miles as it was getting a little low (just before the track day if I recall correctly) took 3/4 of a litre to get it back to just under the full mark. Then just about a week ago I added another 1/2 litre at about 3100 miles again to bring it back up to the full line. The difference in oil between the full and low mark on the dip stick is around 1 litre. So from this I'm using around 1 litre per 2000 miles. Seems about right. Would expect a little more if I was driving it a little harder. Would agree that new cars use more oil in the first 5000 - 7500 miles than what it would be normally. After this, from my experience, I would expect a car like the Z to use around 1 litre of oil for every 4000 - 5000 miles. Bluffy if you only had to add 1.7 litres to bring it back to the max I wouldn't have too many sleepless nights. Anymore and I would be a little concerned. I'd recommend, as you're going to do, having the oil changed and put in something really nice like the Amsol and get back to enjoying the car! Everyone should be checking their oil every 1000 miles, no matter what car they have and expect to put in 1/2 litre every second check. P.S. putting to much oil in there is just as harmfull as too little!
  3. Glad to hear that you had fun. Sounds like a good day. Bit worrying to hear that some people were hitting the wall. Must have been a little silly to manage that. Would agree about the trye pressure thing. When I did the Andy Walsh driving day I was told that in the Z because the tyres are meant for the road and not track use, that you should raise the trye pressure when playing on the track. The main reason for this is so that you don't wear out the tryes on the outer edges, which you do when you go round lots of corners very quickly and instead only wears the middle 3/4 of the tyre. I was surprised at how much he told me to raise the tyre pressure but it worked and didn't have too much of an impact on performance and handling. I was told to take the tyre pressure to the maximum that the tryes would take, which on the standard Bridgestones is 50 PSI (rather than the normal 35PSI). Would advise anyone that is going to one of these types of day to raise their tyre pressure to the maximum allowed by the tyre. Will save you money on new tyres.

  7. Thought I could feel my ears burning. Excellent choice if I do say so myself. The blue hood really does make a huge difference to looks of the car with the Azure Blue paint. Dealer got a Azure demo at the same time with a black hood and it really doesn't suit the car (IMO). Let me know if there is anything I car do to help.......
  8. Reg is familiar Not two little ducks???? Quack quack Thought I remembered reading something about this number plate before.
  9. Spotted a Sunset Coupe down a side street in Twickenham today. One U turn and a three point turn and he had a flyer on the windscreen. Cool number plate for the Z - L**UST. Hopefully we'll see them on here soon.

    New 350z...

to the new members. Good choice bluelady ! Chronic - I think you'll find that the 06 model is a much more aesthetically pleasing. The changes are small but make a huge differnece. There is also more leather on the doors and button are in slightly different place which make it more comfortable too.

  16. Driving day was fantastic . It rained in the morning which was great fun but stopped raining around lunchtime and dried out in the afternoon. Day started with Andy assesing my ability and confidence in the car. Then moved on to the high speed corner. Due to the rain we were doing the corner at about 55-70 mph increasing the speed and using different techniques for getting around the corner before hitting the imagenary wall. This was extremely fun and never fails to catch you out and end up going very quickly backwards. All good fun but really gives you an idea of how the car handles and how you need to feel what the tyres and steering is doing and how to react to keep the car in control and most importantly miss the wall. Next we did the same with breaking from high speed, eventually managing to break in the wet without the ABS kicking in and therefore breaking quicker than relying on the ABS. ABS added about 4 car lenghts to the breaking distance from 70mph in the wet. Andy is a fantastic tutor. He is able to tell you exactly what you have done wrong or what you could do to improve without even being in the car. Various other technique were covered during the morning and all explained why and what they do to heel and toe and slip angles to mention a few. Lunch and then on to the circuit Had stop raining by this time and was drying out slowly. Andy took my car around first to explain the track and then a couple of high speed laps. Best time for Andy was 56 secs (with quite a few puddles on the course). My first time around was 1.13 ish. Managed to get this down to a consistent 1min 01sec. and on the last couple of laps got it down to 59.9 which I was really impressed with (track had dried out and I reckon Andy could have done it in under 53sec easy). The other guy, PJ, who was on the day with me in a Black Lotus 111s S2 Elise (really nice guy and a lovely car too) managed to get rounding 56 secs. Thank you to Andy for a fantastic day and teaching me so much about my car and how to drive it safely, how to get out of trouble and most importantly how not to get into trouble in the first place. I would recommend this day to everyone if you have done one of these days or not. If you haven't then I would definately suggest spending the money on the day and learning more about how to drive your car. You will be surprised firstly how good the car is when driven properly and how much you can improve your own driving. I challenge anyone to go on one of these day and not have any fun and also not learn anything. I also see that Steve has already managed to start organising a group day at the track. If you would like a taster or just a fantastic day out then I would recommend that you make the time to come along. For the same money you will not have a better day out! If anyone would like more information then please feel free to PM for anymore details. George
  17. Pssssst. Who has nicked your side indicators? That's whats missing. Looked at the picture and couldn't figure out what looked a bit funny. Thought I was just imagening things. Nice car though, but would it pass the SVA? Thought side indicators were a must in this country.
  18. Yeh tell me about it, when I told my girlfriend how much I'd spent on the day she took me for a ride too! £220 on a pair of Chanel sunglasses! And that was just the start...... Anyway better go and get some sleep or else I'll fall asleep on the track tomorrow.
  19. I just used a piece of string and ran it under the badge. This cuts the sticky pad that it is on and the badge comes off. To then get the sticky pad off I tried a variety of "techniques". Your nail works well but I found that glass clean on a duster worked the best. Spray the glass cleaner on the cloth and rub it in for a bit then rub it with a dry piece of cloth and the pad will come off slowly. Took me about an hour to remove the pad completely. Paint was undamaged. Then just cleaned, polished and then waxed the panels. Good as new!
  20. Bluffy are you camping? if so contact Derek and let him know mate TheMinel (Sunday) Lomoto (Sunday) Bluffy (sat & sun) Think I'll try and make an appearance at this one. Will need to check with the other half that we've not got anything going on that weekend.
  21. That's why he only wants 50 quid then lalalala i cant hear you Don't worry virtual money won't buy me anything nice for my car so it really is worthless.
  22. Don't find this problem in the 06 model. Switches have been relocated and changed slightly so they can't be knocked as easily. Maybe you should all just invest in the new model?
  23. So do I get £50 of your virtual money?
  24. Girlfriend had had a bad day and just wanted to get home. Wouldn't let me stop and chat.
