  1. 2758m? Pffft! Try 2802m at the top of Col de Bonnette, which is the highest pass in Europe...
  2. I also hope that someone has checked whether you can have the roof compartment hatch open at the same time as the bootlid without the 2 touching.... Quite a common scenario if you are using the compartment to pack stuff in. Could be quite pricey in paintwork terms!

I took a look at one of these in a showroom yesterday: It seems a good bit smaller/compact in the metal, which I think is a good thing. Its shape has echoes of an early 911. The front is good but the back is a bit too anonymous hatchback. The new lights look fantastic. The interior looks a bit better but still feels a bit cheap. I will try and get some pics when I am out that way again... Glen
  4. Good luck with getting rid of it. Deffo get it up for sale now! Suggest you might want to read how Z Roadsters are doing at auction.... http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topi ... 612280&i=0 Glen
  5. Wessex prices are complete comedy. When I wanted to get rid of my Z roadster in July, they weren't interested in buying it at any price. The reason why? They had 10 - yes: 10 - in stock across the group including one they had had for more than a YEAR It cannot make financial sense to do business like that! Drop the prices and get the metal moving! Glen
  6. I had to fit the space saver spare in France and then drive 2 hours to Boulogne to get a new front tyre. 2 hours on the autoroute and down to the ferry at an average of 48 mph gave 34.7 mpg in a roadster. By god it was dull! Glen
  7. That was me! The actual figures were: roof down 148, roof up, mirrors in and only in 5th 153. It would only pull 148 in 6th using the space available. The straight at Bruntingthorpe is not long enough to get to 155 so I dread to think how much room you would need to hit 165! Oh and as we are discussing economy I got a fantastic 9 mpg whilst I was there..... Glen
  8. Yep - mine does it too. It always has, from new on an intermittent basis. Feels as though something is not quite balanced right.... Glen
  9. Yes - the car is the easy bit: 250 quid/MONTH for a parking space in central Tokyo.... We are looking at not owning whilst we are there and then renting something really special when we need to (a GTR is deffo on that list!) Glen
  10. True! I was just making the point that any mods may not be the OPs to sell.... The move to Tokyo has come around unexpectedly so we are currently looking at the least financially disasterous solution for the Z as there are still 14 months left on the contract: 1. Sell it back to the dealer and pay off the finance and make up the shocking amount of shortfall - getting any dealer to give us a price is proving to be a nightmare.... 2. If possible, sell it privately and make up less of a shortfall. 3. If the numbers for 1 and 2 above don't work (ie the shortfall is more than the payments outstanding + insurance + servicing and possibly storage), park it in a garage for a year and then hand it back when it is due. Trouble is, this is too good an opportunity to miss, much as getting rid of the Z is going to be a wrench! Glen Surely its simple? If 14 X your monthly payments is less than the shortfall you'd have to make up then you'd just keep it and hand it back in 14 months time? DOn't forget to include the insurance in the "things I don't have to pay"... and who's going to look after it over 14 months? It needs to be driven, so think about that 1.25 a litre it cost me tonight! BARSTEWARDS! The PCP contract specifies that it must be comprehensively insured so we are factoring that in to the numbers. As for being driven - not often as we will be giving it back after the agreement has finished. Leave the battery with a charger/conditioner fitted and all should be well as we have some dry garaging sorted out. Need to try selling it first... Glen

  12. Careful with this! Only if the PCP company don't know about them! My agreement explicitly states that any accessories fitted to the car become the property of the leasing company... GFV for a Roadster in 14 months time is £13.5k. Looking at the way prices are moving at the moment, I will be handing the car back and walking away... Glen
  13. Dave - I am also from Bristol and will be about from early next week onwards if you are still looking for someone to help out. I need an excuse to get her out of the garage and best we make it a sunny day! Glen

    Rolling Road

There is a contributor on Pistonheads called Vixpy and he runs a company called Surry Rolling Road. Not sure if he is about this weekend but worth a call, Glen
