  1. Top bananna! I'm putting that on my skyline!
  2. Will do some at some point. Haven't had a chance yet. Sounds nice though
  3. Yes & yes . I had it on the passenger seat/footwell, so you'll need some padding.
  4. Had Adrien's ex-5zigen fitted this week (loverly ), so have the old std exhaust from the car if anyone wants it. The flange to the backbox has rusted off - simple job to weld a new one on (blokes at ATS who changed the exhaust for me said it wouldn't be a problem). First pic shows this - pipe itself is intact - just the flang weld itself that broke off. Everything else looks fine. So if you need a std exhaust, you're welcome to it. Make me an offer of a bit of beer money or a go on your wife/girlfriend/daughter, and it's yours. Collect only (Lichfield WS14) - I can't be arsed to post it!
  5. Well, I won't be entering if they don't have that 40 million cap. I wouldn't have enough money left to wipe my bum if I have to spend any more. I've told my close personal friend Max that I won't be spanking his chubby little arse anymore either if it doesn't go ahead. Ferrari or a damn good thrashing... you know which way he's going to go
  6. If I had more money than sense, I'd have one of these: http://www.lifestylepets.com/ You could pick them up for around 12 grand when the exchange rate was good...probably closer to 20 now.
  7. Your car computer will do that for you though...? As long as you don't reset it or disconnect the bat for long. Think ours is sitting at 24-25mpg and has been for the three years we've had it.
  8. Will he take £2.34 in small change and a small bundle of fluff that resembles the Virgin Mary on a bad hair day?
  9. its quite an old device, and a long time since i read up on them. Used to be top of the pops. Very good detection etc. Whether it is still the same story I don;t know.
  10. Thats bloody mad! I've got 100 less HP through four wheels and it's scary at times... you must need a wheelbarrow for your nads ! What's the spec?
  11. Definitely worth shopping around. When we bought ours, we went to a bunch of twats in Coventry - didn't even get a test drive. Went to Polesworth, and got a set of keys and a friendly wave. Went back a week later and polesworth did the same thing. Spent 23K on a 2nd hand Z... guess who we didn't buy from
  12. We bought the 350 after comparing to the RX8, Boxster s, crossfire and Merc. Bang for buck it was the best all round, and I don't think that has changed with the 370 v Cayman. Would have been nice for it to have done another GTR on Porsche though
  13. Yes, its been done before, but latest comparison in this months EVO. 370 faired well, but didn't blow them away. Porsche has better suspension and damping, easier and more relaxing to drive. 370 jittery over the uneven stuff (ie the UK!), hard work, but more fun.
  14. even more pics on his blog: http://ganesh-cf.livejournal.com/
  15. Yum! MOre pics here: http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/116395-nissa ... r-ms1.html
  16. Zaino. http://www.advancedcarproducts.com/prod ... rod=004ZCS Best stuff I've used.
  17. EU law has tightened up on many of the dealer warranty scams. Your warranty cannot be voided if you use oil of the proper spec. Similarly it can't be voided if you go to a properly trained independent rather than a main dealer. I'd fire of a letter to trading standards as a matter of principle and being British (ie having a moan!). Get names.
  18. Feck. £225! And it's a weekday . I wonder if it's worth the head honchos here talking to gtroc/mlr about joining their trackday program. They're very well run, and cost around £160 for members for open pit. Might be worth looking into as a slightly cheaper alternative for members here.
  19. Problem is that it could be down to the driver - driving with foot resting on the clutch pedal, excessive slipping, lots of burnouts etc. It's impossible to prove either way, and the dealership will hide behind that. You might get lucky if you can generate enough noise - local news (choose a slow day!), watchdog etc. Make it easier for them to change it 'as a goodwill' gesture...
  20. Sadly some bugger keeps making me work weekends ! Struggling to fit in the usual trackdays as it is. Makes Jack a grumpy boy !
  21. You really need dyno plots before and after these types of mods as the seatofthepantsometer is notoriously unreliable. 'I've put a new bit on my car so it must be better...'. I'm not sure that many people would really be able to tell 5-10BHP on top of 280, or similar torque changes.
  22. In a Crocodile Dundee fashion, "thats not a mirror reflection, this is a mirror reflection"... But mine has a stunningly handsome fellow being reflected . That must count for something!
  23. Looking good. Be carefull - it gets addictive ! Claying is the one step you shouldn't leave out when doing that 'big' clean. It's so important to remove the crap that has bonded to the paint, otherwise you never get the full shine potential. Even gunmetal can look like a mirror... http://s88.photobucket.com/albums/k193/ ... finish.jpg
  24. Bit late for this, but leverage is king in these situations. A tenner spent on a nice long breaker bar - like these: http://www.justoffbase.co.uk/Tool-Shop/Breaker-Bars - will save you so much blood, sweat & knuckles. Not a fan of the Mallet Method myself - too much potential for smiting something else, or rounding the bolt when the spanner slips prior to smacking you in the head! I've also never found it necessary to open the brake fluid resevoir when changing pads.
  25. The dealer was talking tat - new discs should not judder - but he's probably achieved his aim of getting you out of the showroom with a problem car, and 5 months down the line where he can claim the problem is due to you. Discs wont be covered by warranty as they are wear & tear items. So you'll be relying on their 'goodwill' and desire to keep you as a customer - something that is not a strong point of UK Nissan Dealerships . It may be worth having a go at 'scrubbing' the discs with a session of hard braking. Find a clear road, do a few stops of 4 seconds at 50% max brake pressure, starting from 30mph to gradually build up heat, and finishing with 3 to four 70mph stops. Stop on a level area and have a quick look (don't put the handbrake on) - the discs should be blue if you've done it right. Don't worry about the smoke . Drive a few miles gently to let things cool down. That should sort out any deposits on the disc surface. If it's still juddering, then it may well be the disc. 1mm does sound like a huge amount - it's possible that the discs weren't installed properly - a bit of grime or rust on the hub surface etc may have meant the disc does not sit true....
