  1. Mrs Ming bought a handbag from ebay for about £85 and as soon as we saw it it was obviously a fake even though it was advertised as 'genuine with tags' and came in the proper bag. Before we got it out of the bag something fell off. It took several emails and a rather nasty phone call from me with the promise of a visit from the local old bill and the TRADING STANDARDS OFFICERS before we got our money back MINUS postage??? The point is I left negative feed back and had the same left in return. Now I did nothing wrong but got the negative thing ruining my ebay 100% record. I also tried a paypal claim and was told to wait xx weeks and see what happens?? There is NOTHING you can do about this other than come to an agreement that BOTH feed backs will be removed. How unfair is that!! I too am VERY careful with ebay and paypal now Ming the Cautious
  2. The Zed is back. I actually got her back before the weekend but although the car was 'clean' it was not Ming clean and I wanted to get her 100% before I posted up any pictures. The results are better than I had any hope of expecting and although it took 7 weeks from start to finish it was eventually worth the wait. The front bumper, which was never right since I bought the car, looks immaculate as does the bonnet, wings and doors. they have done a VERY clean job as well and I am more than happy. When I picked her back up the guy in charge of cleaning actually said that my car was the first one where he cleaned up UNDER the bonnet!! Although they said it was clean as soon as I got it home I clay barred the car front to back. Put on a light coat of polish and then Carnuba waxed her. WOW is all I can say. Wax on new or properly cleaned paint just seems to get better and better. The only way that you would know that the car has had paint is that the paint is TOO GOOD for the age. It is 100% I know i am going on but i am really pleased with the result and the car is better than the day I got it by a long long way!! All that and they paid ME £320 for the pleasure. Photo's Ming the Happy Chappy
  3. Please do not let the 'import' issue put you off. The only benefit of a nearly new British car is the manufacturers warranty and from what I have heard thats no big deal. The importer I bought from gave me a 12 month warranty with the car so you cannot gripe at that!! Imports are cheaper and sell cheaper but the depreciation is the same. They have also NOT seen 2, 3 or 4 salty winters so should be in better condition and lower mileage. Get it bought and enjoy it. Ming the considered
  4. Ageed As nice as it is, and it is nice, it is only a Skyline!! 53,000 could buy you an Aston Martin!! Ming the Obvious
  5. I've had loads of cars of all sorts and hopefully in times to come will have lots more but the Zed still makes the hairs on my neck stand up when its tail slips out and 'missbehaves' a little. I had a 5 series BMW 3.5 litre cruise mobile that I enjoyed for lots of different reasons BUT Mrs MING loves the Zed like nothing I have owned before!! I still look round when one comes past but cannot say the same about a BMW 3 series unless it is an M3 rag top. Botrh cars are good but for different reasons and at different things. Good luck you will enjoy it!! Ming the Impatient (Mine is back tomorrow)
  6. Nixy Debadge and leave it clean. It looks so much cleaner and dare I say classier. If they gotta ask what it is then hey all the better. Mine came like this and I am well happy with it. Ming the clean
  7. I should have my Zed back by Monday night so if the weather is good I might pop along as Sherburn is only 45 minutes or so away. Will have to try and get it clean first though as the body shop will not have it ming clean. I used to go there on my bike regularly so i know the route. Hopefully see some of you there. Ming the impatient
  8. H5 Hi mate I spend loads of time down at the local powder coaters and bright metallic silver is 100% better than standard in my opinion. You will really see the difference when parked next to a standard car. I was going to get my car done before the damage to the screen and bonnet but the lift they use would not safely go under the skirts so I am looking round for either a spare set of wheels or another method of lifting the car at the moment. Mine will go smoked chrome which is half way between bright metallic silver and chrome itself! Go for it mate it will be well worth it! Ming the envious - and Zed free still!
  9. Ming I think you may have a gambling addiction THINK?? THINK??? Of course I have a POKER addiction!! Mrs Ming and i have had a good night on line and are $165 to the good so that is our stakes for a while Role on VEGAS!! Ming the ready
  10. Couldn't agree more. Serious money changes the way you play entirely. My poker name is the Ragin' Cajun......... because I don't take too kindly to being punished on the river. Played a live game last night, 46 runners at £20 a head. Just 11 of us left. The call is 1000 chips, there is one caller and then 1 raise to 6000 chips before me. I have 16000 chips and call all in with Ace King off suit, the initial 1000 chip caller folds, the guy that raised to 6000 adds the extra 10000 chips. Dealer calls to show cards , he as ace/jack i have ace /king, so i am ahead. Flop comes with 3 low cards so i am still winning, turn card nothing then its all down to the river and guess what? Yep a jack appears.!! So thats it i am out i would have been elevated to about fourth highest chip leader but instead i am going home. Was not too mad because i think i played right. Any one think different? Enjoyed the night but took non of the loot home. If you are all in with the best hand then it is the right play but as nice as AK is there are 65 hands that are better, albeit only marginally Bad beats like yours are what make us come back for more though!! LOL Ming the Happy
  11. Hi guys I have been playing 'bricks and mortar' (Thats the term for live games as opposed to on line games) for three years now at least once a fortnight and often more. Each year I go to france with 'the boys' for a three or four day poker fest. (Theres lots of beer and food as well) I run a league, called 'Texas Mings' with over 60 members and the twice monthly game is tournament based with over 40 starters. I play on line most nights - I am playing now - and have on occasion played in both cash games and at casino's. In September Mrs Ming and I go to Las Vegas for a week long poker orgy!! Last year I made about $400 on line and about £100 cash. Add to that that at the moment I am the SECOND BEST player in our house. Mrs Ming is the most feared player in the league and is not called the 'black widow' for nothing. (There are several other names she is called as she destroys the male ego and confidence but none I would type on here) This year I am £200 up in cash and, between us, Mrs Ming and I are about $1200 up on line (We paid for our week in the Monte Carlo hotel in Vegas on the back of our winnings) Mrs Ming is about £600 up. We usually play no limit hold'em but also play omaha and pineapple (both versions of Texas Hold'em) and I enjoy 'cash games' In my opinion the only way to learn is to play ... BUT .. play with people who understand the game. 5 or 6 beginners sitting down to play takes the fun out of the game. Oh!! And you must play for money. No money = no reason to play properly. Ming the poker Mad!!
  12. At the entrance to the supermarket there is a little hatched area that is used regularly by people who either work at the supermarket or one of the shops nearby and its a first come first served basis. I guess I was first!! I can't even claim the idea it was one of the guys who works for me who suggested it!! Ming the Happy
  13. Hi Jim Whilst my car was off the road things stopped as I thought I was going to have a £350 excess to pay!! The car is due back next week and I must get my proverbial AR*E into gear. It was the fitting of my latest idea that caused the damage to the car in the first place - indirectly that is!! There are other ideas in the pipeline all being well!! Ming the cautious
  14. Thanks mate, top advice. What do you reckon on copper grease? I've read that on bedding in it will melt and come off anyway. Also, what are your thoughts on bedding in? Mucho thanks! Bedding in will be pad specific surely? My Ferodo pads came with specific instructions And yes copper grease is a must my pads squeeled like buggery untill i added copper grease last week sweet cheers dude!! Agreed Check on the box for bedding in and do as it says. The one thing to avoid if at all possible is a high speed stop to an actual stop. It is this heat generation and a pad firmly stuck to the disc that causes high spots on the disc and can cause vibration. The advice for the guy that explained all this is where possible take your foot off the pedal just before you stop to allow the wheel to turn slightly. As for greasing coppers Mrs Ming gets upset if it is the lady copper kind I try and grease Joking aside it is standard practice in most garages to use this stuff so it must be safe and worth doing otherwise they wouldn't bother. Ming the Cautious
  15. Taking the brake fluid resevoir cap of is good advice BUT Do not forget to wrap a cloth around the resevoir as, as you push the piston back the fluid level will rise and, if the fluid spills, it is VERY VERY corrosive. You dso not take the caliper OFF but you do have to take it off the disc!! I did mine within days of getting the car and it was dead easy!! Go steady and clean up everything as you go. That way its still easy next time!! Ming the cautious
  16. Not a racer but out most days training for my big July charity ride. Ride to and from work most days (11 miles in total) so class myself as a 'regular rider'. The bike I use is a Diamondback hybrid (Also called a 'fast urban') Ming the Fit bloke!
  17. As we speak I have a diesel golf outside waiting the ming touch tomorrow. The outside is OK but the inside is like a skip!! Lady owner. What can I say. I have also been and put a deposite on an early vvti Celica for Mrs Ming that will get the Ming Bling Thing!! so the next few weekends are fully booked. I shall then be looking for another 'renovation' project to scrub up and flog on!! Ming the enterprising
  18. Zedrush. Thanks mate but they are already part way through the repair and the cheque is cashed and in my account!! The heated screen is clear to see if you look around the edges of the glass. There is a light brown filament very similar to the one that goes on a rear window but it only seems to go round the edge. Not knowing I had it I cannot comment on its operation - or even how to turn it on?? - and as such whether it heats all the screen or just some of it! I didn't realise when I bought it just how many extras my car had. So far its Heated screen Different side repeaters Fujitsubo exhaust Mud flaps Leather seats Tinted glass Grounding kit Iridium plugs - now replaced Ming the lucky
  19. peak torque of 1,230 Nm Never mind BHP .... thats a chuffin articulated lorry figure!!!!!!!!!!!!! What must it feel like at 2000 rpm Why do they do it? Because they can. Why do we do things to our cars? Because we can!! I wanna go PLEASSSSSEEEEEEE!!! Ming the impressed (Big numers always impress me!! )
  20. It certainly has its moments mate but, like any other, job paper work gets in the way and the powers that be always seem to wait until something is running really well and then get suspicious of it and change it!! Truth be told I am lucky to have a job that I enjoy doing!! Ming the content
  21. Took the Yellow T*rd to the mot station yesterday and it went straight through - it actually cost me an extra 99p for a bulb!! Took it ot work this morning and parked it at the entrance to a local supermarket 20 yards from the nick. Went in the office and typed out a for sale sign!! Put it in the window at 8:30 and by 9:30 I had sold it for £350!! Thats a clear £229 profit. Take out the tenner in petrol I had put in last night and a tenner towards polish and bits and the profit is still well over £200. Since then I have had four more enquiries about it!! Not bad for a couple of afternoons work with the polisher and guess what?? Thats the polisher paid for!! Ming the more than happy!
  22. Tuesday was a good day. I dropped my car off at the repairers so that they can start the repair only to find that they had eventually got a price for the heated screen having agreed with the insurers to go ahead with a normal screen and for them to pay me the difference. About two hours later the insurers phoned me to say that they too had the price and would I accept a cheque for £326?? WOULD I then . . . . . . Would I also accept them paying the excess of £350 as final settlement of the difference in the price of the screen Errr????????? Yes I would thank you very much!! They have faxed the insurers to waive the excess and today I got a cheque for £326. Almost worth the wait!! Ming the Happy - and patient!
  23. Hi Guys Enough of the russian already.!! LOL Good old Bablefish eh!! A quick update on the job. Had loads of calls from a very suspicious chinese guy 'calling for his friend'.. They had been back to the house, in the dark I reckon, and wanted to know what the lock smith had seen/taken from the house. I am sure they think i have stolen their drugss!! They also saw the skip that the land lord left outside the house with mosy of their clothes in it!! He He He!! As such they have not been locked up yet ... but ........ I have some loverly pictures of them at a well known financial institution with a bag of money that they paid to the landlord a couple of days earlier!! He He He. The fact that they wont come in will slow things up a little but will not stop them getting their collars felt. I still can't wait to introduce myself as the ''locksmith' as ...... I LOCK THEIR CELL DOOR!! It will happen and I will keep you posted!! Ming the Busy Guy

  25. I always do an oil change on any car I buy no matter what the service record says!! Then i know what oil is in it and what condition it is in!! I also change it a couple of times a year irrespective of useage - usually autumn and spring, and do the filter once a year - more often is actually detrimental to the engine. Its an easy job and the local dumpit site will take used oil! People spend literally thousands on mods and bling and then cut corners on oil!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! From memory the sump bolt is in plain view under the car and there is a little plastic cover to remove for the oil filter. Bare in mind that the filter on a Zed is the same as on a nissan micra so don't EVER forget to change it when its due!! Ming the cautious
