  1. Just out of interest ming did you register the car yourself? and does / did your renewal have any emissions data on it? As I've stated previously, mines 1st registered in Japan in march 2005 and is registered over here as a PLG but they are trying to charge me band G based on the emissions - they want it all ways. thieving scumbags My car was registered in Japan in Jan 03 and in the UK in July 06. It was imported by a firm of importers and they did the initial SVA and registration. As for renewal form having emissions data I don't remember I have had little to do with traffic matters for many years now so will be very rusty but I thought all vehicles were either PLG, PCV or LGV. I will speak to my mate in traffic when I next see him. Just checked the reg doc for my lads VW Corrado and that says PLG for taxation class and petrol for fuel. Diesel is classed as 'Heavy Oil' if I remember rightly. I really cannot see how left or right hand drive can make a blind bit of difference to classification though. Ming the Confused
  2. Hi Guys - and Nixy - LOL The cocaine press guy is now tucked away in his little 'dingly dell' at Doncatraz awaiting sentence having copped an early plea, and the green fingered Chinese horticulturalist was interviewed at length the next day and talked 'bollox'. We remanded him to court and he too now occupies a little square of concrete at her majesties pleasure. Further goods news today is that he is an illegal (we already new that!) and CPS and customs have decided that he is an exportable product This means conviction then deportation. Cheapest option all round I say! Yesterday was a crap day but today was much better!! Ming the Happy
  3. Hows this for a coincidence?? The cocaine press guy came in to answer his bail yesterday (We had him nailed with forensic evidence but he went on to admit allowing his house to be used to turn three kilos of cocaine into 9 kilos with a the press. Thats a street value of £360,000 worth of cocaine through his house is 4 months Today we arrested the chinese guy responsible for growing all the 7 foot plants!! Left him in the cells until tomorrow morning as he was being an arse and refusing to speak english even though he works in a take away. Ming the Quite Content
  4. MY car is a 52 plated Jan 03 model. It is an import and was first registered in the UK in July 2006. I looked on a site to check up on the tax cost and got various different and large quotes. Went to the post office full of dread to get 6 months tax and paid £99. It was £190 for 12 months. All CARS are classed as PLG which is Private Light Goods I fail to see how DVLA can charge different prices for the same damn car!! Not that I am complaining as mine is one of the cheap ones. Ming the Puzzled
  5. I have remained a member of the GTO forum - even though I have to pay - for several years after I sold my GTO as I like the place and usually still go to the GTO Christmas Do. Why?? Because they are my friends and I would loose touch with many of them if I didn't post occasionally. I still offer bits of advice regarding the car as I did most of the work on mine myself and although I no longer have one the stuff doesn't change. I still sort out powder coated parts for them and have GTO bits in my garage. You never know I might even have one again one day when they are vintage sports cars LOL!! The point is they still make me welcome but I cannot vote on anything to do with the club as I no longer have a car which i think is right and fair. I think it is healthy to have non owners on the site. Ming the considered
  6. As most of you know I have had a reasonable claim this year for front end wind damage. My company wanted £731 on renewal but Liverpool Victoria charged me £484 with full protected no claims and full business use. ME? Old and in a high insurance area - car crime capital of the Uk lest year - but with a pretty good insurance record! Ming the wrinkled
  7. Same oil filter as the Nissan MICRA!! !! Ming the cautious
  8. In my opinion they are far and away the best set of wheels I have ever seen. One question no one else seems to have asked but I 'aint afraid. HOW MUCH!!!!! On my Gun Metal car they would look stunning. Ming the VERY envious
  9. I would have voted ride and handling BUT only for the ride. Great when driving it like it was stolen but too hard the rest of the time on anything except marble smooth roads. I love the way the rear will gently step out as often as you ask it with no drama and no fuss! Ming the picky
  10. Some pics The team just about to set off! Trying to look confident and failing Our trusty steeds Where are we going to fit? The castle Gretna Green Cardiff dome Buck House Early morning breakfast Finished at the town hall A flying tour of four days of riding!! Ming the Relaxed
  11. Just been looking at a map. Could possibly include N Ireland and S Ireland and make it 9!! Ming the Mad
  12. Hi Guys and gals We completed the round trip yesterday morning at 5:22am. It took 90 1/2 hours and we covered 1041 miles averaging slightly under 11.5 miles and hour. We are all tired and pleased with our selves. Having seen the flooding reports we made a last minute decision to go north first as opposed to south. We set of from Barnsley at 10:00am on the Saturday and made Edinburgh the next morning at 8:00 having traveled through some pretty dire weather. We did the Castle pics and then set off south to Cardiff. We arrived at the Cardiff Millenium Stadium at 8:30 monday night having been lucky with the weather and missing a lot of rain. - we still got wet, often, but not in the torrential way that Scotland had been. A few pics at the dome - a big disappointment I might add and VERY badly signposted - and we were on our way out of Cardiff to London. The weather then changed for the better and spirits rose. We flew through Wiltshire and the southern counties and into London for about 10:00 o'clock. Buckingham Palace was almost completely surrounded by tourists and any signs of the recent flooding were gone. We then headed north and made Barnsley at 5:22 the next morning. A proper adventure and one I would not have missed for anything. It was hard in many ways the cycling often being a relief as opposed to a chore. The van we used was full with clothing - often wet - people - always tired - and food - always cold - and as such getting out onto the road was often the nicest place to be. In total most of us had 10 to 12 hrs sleep in four days and little if any of it lying down!! This entry is going on today as I slept most of yesterday!!!!!! There were lots and lots of little stories that unfolded as the trip did and I will try and get some pics up later on. The good news is that I should have raised at least £1600 for Bluebell wood and the team should have raised £10,000 in total for all the different charities. Ming the Pleased and refreshed. PS I am already thinking about the next one, again on a bicycle. 7 Countries in 7 days. Wales, England, France, Belgium, Germany, Holland and finally Sclotland.
  13. Hi guys and gals. Just done a rough tally and if all the monies promised come in it should creep over £1500 Can I again thank all those that have donated. Without you it would not have been worth while. Ming the VERY greatful
  14. I like the idea I have a picture in my mind already. Cheers Ming the Nervous
  15. A gentle bump guys and gals and the chance to update the donations so far. In total I have £1120 promised or already given and the just giving site has raised £220 plus about £50 bonus. Please think about me and hope for a little sun as Saturday morning is not far away!! Ming the prepared - and slightly nervous
  16. Whilst I am on my high horse there is another thing that gauls me. The forms that you have to fill in asking about your ethnicity, whether you agree with them or not, have just about every variation of colour and race . . . EXCEPT . . ENGLISH . . I don't mind being British, I am in fact quite proud of being British, but I am ENGLISH and would like the oportunity to say so. I always tick the 'other' box or draw my own little square and write English next to it to really confuse someone who receives it!! Ming the pedantic
  17. Totally agree with you, but just to interject about Christian Churches and have some degree of knowledge in this area, Christianity has two major splits, Catholics and Prodestants due to the great movement of Martin Luther, a friar who cotton on to what was Salvaition by works when it should of been Salvation by faith. Anyway wont bore you with that, but most Christian churches are self sufficient, they dont rely on Tax payers money, infact alot pay tax as if it were a buisness. Hence why members of most churches tythe their money, 10% of their wages to the church in order to keep the establishment going, not the general public. The only church that relies heavily on tax payers money, is infact the Church of England, which was established by Henry the 8th because the Catholics wouldnt support his views on divorce. So therefor since then it has been a government estaqblishment in the first place and was originally a way for the governement to infact evade paying tax themselves as they could launder it through the church. So not all churches pay tax. Muslims, whether shiites (lol it is a form of muslim honestly) or sunnis, also pay tythe in order to fund themselves. As the first 5 books in the Quran are exactly the same as the Bible, and Tything is mentioned in both. So.... The frustration comes when a self sufficient religion is being funded in a non muslim country and by British citizens money. Just to let you guys know I lost 2 friends who went to Pakistan to help with education and were Christians. They didnt preach Christianity they just done it out of good will to let people realise that their are good people in the world who came come together a be one whatever your colour, religion or societal beliefs are. They were murdered because they refused to be muslims and denounce their faith. The girl was raped and was forced to watch the guy burn alive, before her own throat was slit. I hold no animosity to muslims, as I dont stereotype, what i dont understand is how this government does not take its own people into account when making decisions. Or dont have their own people at heart and make decisions that benifit us as a whole rather than selected society or religion Makes me furiated Here endeth the sermon I must be sad as well then as I found it quite interesting!! Ming the Odd
  18. A bit 'Marvin' if you ask me! Before those on the petition there are about three million other folk who would be targeted. All the armed forces, all the police, all politicians, all those in government office. Thats before you look at religion for more targets. Ming the Considered
  19. Public money = public things. Christian money = Christian things Muslim money = Muslim things] Etc Etc Etc With congestion charges and massive road tax bills. Toll roads on the horizon and a crumbling infrastructure this country is on the verge of imploding and we even CONSIDER public money for this. Its no wonder I have high blood pressure and no hair. Ming the - only ever so slightly - angry PS I signed up!
  20. We had an article in the paper the other day claiming that Cannabis was as bad as heroin and claiming that ecstacy, cocaine and CRACK COCAINE were socially acceptable drugs They went on to say that cannabis production was out of control in our town when at the moment it is one of the hardest drugs to buy. Bearing in mind what I do I went to my boss in a foul temper asking if I could put a reasoned reply in - or burn the damn paper down - and he said that getting into debate was not good practice and if we ignore articles like these they just go away. The trouble is now everyone BELIEVES all the bollox that was written!!!! My old boss moves to a new district and folk like me at the pointy end get the back lash. The only folk who know the REAL truth are the cops and the dealers/users. Ming the ranter
  21. Nobody could beat up THAT MANY people!! LOL There would be queues waiting to laugh!! Ming the Meddler PS A belated welcome from Sunny Barnsley
  22. Actually a difficult one this. Without a little more info I would not like to make too much of a comment other than unless they come from planet Mars the MUST have known the potential if they got caught. I would not want to be where they are but I dont smuggle drugs!! Ming the - slightly - cautious
  23. Got another piece of good news today. There is this horrid pikey - can I use that word? - who has been selling a LOT of heroin for some time and who got stopped with a bucket load the other day. He tried to get away and knocked over two guys I know. Fortunately its only bad bruising but one went over the top of the car Now running anyone down is bad enough but running down two cops when there are others there is tanamount to suicide His car was then rammed by a police car and as he got out he Kept falling over!!!!!! This guy was also part of a team that wander round town picking on young drunk lads and then filling them in. This time he LOST!!! He has about 10 years inside pending now My mates are OK and SERIOUS jail beckons. RESULT ming the Happy
  24. He is likely to get 3 years for his pains I would guess but as you rightly say you never can tell these days. Any less than 2 and I will be royally pi**ed off. The sig is great but cannot claim it. Zedrush did it for me!! Ming the Appreciative
  25. Tuesday afternoon I was out with a couple of my lads minding my own business and mooching around before knocking off time after a reasonably productive afternoon when we saw a big shiney Mitsi Shogun with fancy plate do what seemed to be a deal to a local smack rat. Before we could stop it it was gone and I was not sure it ever happened?? Low and behold ten minutes later we dropped on it on a little side street and with a little careful manuvering we boxed him in and were out and on him before he knew who we were. LOL Eventually got him out of the car and found he was 5'8" tall and 4'3" wide A struggle ensued that resulted in a full tin of PAVA spray right in his eyeballs LOL That took the sting out of him and he turned into a cry baby!! We recovered £600 worth of heroin and £500 in cash from him and his car!! This is a guy who claims to use NO DRUGS AT ALL. (I guess steroids don't count as he was a proper carpet carrier.) Now I can understand heroin addicts dealing to fund their habit - I don't like it but I CAN understand it - but people who peddle this sh*t for profit are lower than the lowest and it is so nice to stick it up them with a proper big stick!! Its days like that that make it all worth while!! To add to the fun we did a warrant today and when we got to the house most of the drugs had gone BUT We found about £300 worth of 'weed' and then £6,000 in cash. Funny thing was he was not there and had forgotten to lock his door I would have paid good money to see his face when he gets home at 5:30 from work to find his door open, his weed gone and his cash missing. Ming the Happy
